A few months ago the following three cars would have cost you ?21,000 if you paid the asking prices.

Now all 3 are available for ?15,500 and you might get them even cheaper if you wanted to haggle. Like everything else in the economy, products are coming down in price - Even classic Fiats.  Smiley

The fact that they did not sell says it all. You can ask whatever you want, but getting it is a different matter Roll Eyes

Of course you are right Dave and even now there is no guarantee that even these prices will be realised. The point is that the starting price or ceiling for negotiation has reduced significantly on these cars indicating that prices for 131 Sports have currently peaked, which is not suprising given the economies of most countries.

I maintain a database of 131 Sports from around the world with photos, mileage and prices which helps in being able to spot when cars re-appear with different prices.

As  a matter of interest to anyone who fancies a full set of 131 Sports in all 4 factory colours this is now available with this Black RHD car for sale in Malta and an Orange car on Autoscout 24 (which has been for sale without a buyer for quite some time).

True, prices go lower, of course because of the credit crunch. It is definately a buyers market, when you are at least able to buy or you want to buy something.

I am only surprised to  see that most people talk a lot about the prices but  still don't try to buy what they say they like to buy. A discussion a few weeks ago said 10K is not too much for a Racing in very good condition, so I offered a car but reaction zero Huh

Come on, take 5K and try to buy a Racing in Italy, you cannot loose more money as when you buy a new car and drive it out of the showroom, more probably the value will rise a bit again.. The funfactor is very high and you can enjoy 3MA2010 Grin

Well said Albert some people love buying wrecks of cars for a couple of hundred pounds and filling them with filler and then critisising someone for spending good money on a nice car and as you said it is not an investment but it is for a pleasure you buy a classic car for...

It all depends how much you can afford to spend. If I had 10,000 Euro to spend on a car then perhaps I would buy one of these cars, but I don't.

Some people like working on cheap old cars and making them better. That is what I enjoy doing and is another reason why I buy cheap cars that need work as well as because of the financial side of things..
