Hello all,

My Mk1 mirafiori was originally powered by  1297 OHV engine that was replaced by the PO.
The "new" one has the following specs:

1600cc
Twin cam (OHC)
Twin 40 IDFs
125 BC 000 (near the oil filter)

And also the engine head is 124AC 040 (or 000, not sure)

In your opinion, are the above mirafiori engines or maybe from some other donor car? A friend said sth about a Fiat 124 Spider 1608cc engine but they are extremely rare here as they were never officially imported in Greece.  (In fact I have never seen one on the road!)

I thought the Fiat 131 engine numbers should be sth like 132.___.___.

Any ideas?

acording to numbers, that should be an 124 1608cc engine, although i've seen 125bc engine in 125 special. 124ac head is nothing uncommon for 1608 engines, many fiats 125 have such head.
twin carbs were originally fittwed to some 124 coupes.

after all these years it's hard to tell which car came with wich engine and was it original engine or not.
