It's probably too early to be talking about this but I thought I'd get the thread started so people can post their routes and times and we'll try and get some convoys going  Wink

I also have an ulterior motive here  Smiley 3ma11 finishes on the 8th of May and like most of us I'll be driving back home on Monday 9th May. But unlike most of you, I'll be getting up very early on Tuesday 10th May and catching the 7:20am  Eurotunnel from Folkstone to Calais on my way to Germany and the Eurovision Song Contest. So far there are 5 cars coming from Germany for 3ma11 so if any of our German friends are spending an extra day in the UK and are planning to drive back on the 10th of May I'll be able to join their convoy back to Germany  Grin

Yup! Knock it as much as you like, but if you've never seen one live you really don't know what you're missing  Grin

BTW Steve, you should start watching again as the voting and final selection method has been changed to eliminate (or at least reduce) the political alliance vote.

Hi all,

below you find the preliminary driving route for Ernst, Jan and me.
Haven't spoken to Holger yet where he will join us (he'll come from Kassel).
At the moment plans are to do the first part of the route on Tuesday and take one of the Dunkerque-Dover ferries in the evening, spending the night in Dover or some miles more inland before heading to Kingsteignton on Wednesday.
Similar schedule for the journey back: Monday Kingsteignton-Dover-Ferry, Tuesday Dunkerque-home.

Does this already fit into the plans of other attendees from Germany?
Would love to do some convoying  Wink Roll Eyes Cheesy

Btw.: Already 5 cars from Germany, not counting us?  Cool
Seems like 3ma is gonna taking over the whole hotel  Grin

somehow, yes  Wink our plans are to go from Mainz to Br?gge (Belgium) on Tuesday 3, then continue the next morning to the UK.

(Ever seen the movie "In Bruges" ("Br?gge sehen und sterben") starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson? If not, do it!! One of the most underrated movies from 2008.)

Surely planning a coffee stop in Bergheim  Grin

So, I think there's a chance to go a few kms together on the A61  Cool

I'm a big fan of this movie Robert - Have watched it several times and dont forget the brilliant contribution by Ralph Fiennes. Aside from the enjoyment of the film, it is a great advert for the city and I'm sure it must have boosted tourism there for a period. Smiley

I think most people coming to 3ma11 from the Continent are likely to use M20, M26, M25, M3 and then A303 to Devon (unless they decide on the cross-country route but that will add at least an hour to driving time). Similarly, anyone travelling from London or the Southeast is likely to pick up the M25 at some point and then M3 etc. So a common point on these routes will be the Southbound section of Fleet Motorway services on the M3 between Junctions 4A and 5. The drive from there to our hotel in Kingsteignton is about 2.5 hours and I think it might be a good meeting point for a number of people in the UK as well as our Continental participants. Assuming I start my journey on the 4th of May around midday as currently planned, I expect to be going past the services  between 1:00 and 2:00pm and I could stop and wait for others to arrive. So post here and let us know what time you think you'll be there and let's try and get a large convoy of 131s arriving at the Passage House Hotel in Kingsteignton together  Wink Cheesy

Count me in for the meet at Fleet Services on the M3 Wink

Will try to get there for about 1.45pm to 2pm - which, traffic permitting, should leave us plenty of time. Grin

Theo, if you'd like to call in at mine for a free coffee before we go on to the Services you'd be very welcome.  Grin

I reckon we'll be there - ferry arrives Dover 11 am, distance around 100 miles, so enough time to go to Fleet Services  Smiley

It's about a 2 hour drive from Dover to Fleet services (traffic allowing of course) so you should be there well before 2:00pm  Cheesy
