My local filling station is ?1.42 for a litre of diesel and has been for weeks. We just have gotten used it here in the UK over the last few years - stupidly high fuel prices! Angry

It's ridiculous Cry Wages stay the same or go down and prices just keep going up.

Added to that so many people are losing their jobs and therefore end up on benefits. I don't know what the answer is but something has to be done Wink

I can still remember in the early 90's when my weeks take home pay wouldn't top ?100. Now that wouldn't even fuel a large car and moreover the last 20 years have apparantly being a period of low inflation Huh Huh

However you can guarantee that the restaurants and bars will be full this weekend. I don't know where it all comes from  Shocked Shocked

When I last filled up my E60 535d M Sport it cost me ?1.429 for each litre of Diesel, with a total bill of ?86.60 - but the tank still had a few miles left in the 'Range' according to the OBC.

If I drive the car 'normally' - that's normally for me and not the wife I might add Wink - I get about 27mpg - but if I'm gentle on the throttle I can stretch it out to at least 35mpg, which isn't too bad for a 3 litre engine. Smiley

The problem I have now is that I have just effectively been given 3 months notice (after being told that my position was safe! Angry) so I find myself looking for another contract after two years in the current one.  Undecided So, back to worrying about money again Sad Not nice. (If I'm ever introduced to a Banker I shall hit first, speak later!)

Simon

Just what you need in the new year  Cry Cry Roll Eyes I always knew a few years ago when recruiting was such a nightmare and 'Personnel Issues' dominated my working life  Huh Undecided that the situation of not being able to find people would not last  Undecided Undecided. At least they gave you 3 months notice, as opposed to 3 minutes  Cry :'(that some people get.

An opportunity came to my attention a few days ago that I would imagine could suit you, especially based on your former Employer  Wink Smiley However, it is in this region. Could be worse at least you'd be close to Steve and I to get your Mirafiori Fix (talking about them obviously without the driving). If you are interested send me a PM and I will provide the details.

Back to the Original StoryLine, at least fuel is cheap here  Grin Grin Shocked
