Just been looking at this on the www.
Im negotiating at a price about 20% cheaper than is being asked.
Just wondering what others might think of the price? and is it fair?
1 lady owner, came over from Italy, 30+ genuine miles? Power steering. etc etc
I have a lot of photos from the vendor if anyone wants them send me a PM

Steve

Steve - you must have been off site for a while.

There is a long thread all about this car on the forum. Seller is a chap called Graham.  Smiley

It looks like a good propsect and could be an ideal 3MA car - Nice and comfy for those inter-continental drives.  Wink

What you spend on the purchase price you save at the back end with no work to do - Hopefully.

Hi Steve,

Happy New Year mate! Grin Shocked Grin Grin

You asked what people thought about the price of the blue Super. Well, if I might be so bold as to offer my opinion - for what it's worth. Wink

There are some people that will always quibble about price however cheap any item may be, and others that will only pay the 'screen price'. If you are able to haggle - and lets face it, these days in this current economic climate, it's a buyers market (at least it should be!) so haggling should come as second nature - then there's usually a deal to be done.

I think the blue S2 is a great looking car - in factory standard colour with a good standard interior. The power steering for me is a turn off, as it's not original, however if it has been done properly, using factory parts, (which I'm told by the seller it has) then it should be fine. The other thing that possibly put off some UK buyers is the LHD aspect, but if you plan to use the car in Spain it a huge positive! Cool As for the mileage being genuine, who knows, but condition is everything.

Provided you are happy to pay the money, and the car is as good in the metal as it appears in the pics, then I'd say 'Go for it!' as good condition, original spec 131s of any series (especially S2) are getting hard to come by now.

As a comparison - I have just taken on a UK spec S2 1600TC Super myself, and between me and the previous owner, we've probably spent in the last 12 months close on the negotiated sale price of the blue car, so you pay your money and you take your chance.

By the way - Theo went and saw the blue car in the metal a few weeks ago, so I'm sure he'll be able to give you an unbiased opinion of it. Don't think he drove it tho, which someone must to determine it's 'on the road' characteristics.

Good luck Steve, I'm sure you'll make the right decision mate! Grin

At 20% less then the asking price for what looks like a good S2, I would suggest that is a reasonable buy.

Series 2 Supers (ignoring Abarth's and Supercharged Versions) IMHO are the most desirable of 131's after Sports.

As Simon said, I saw this car a while back and I can testify that it's a very nice car indeed. I didn't drive it but I heard it start up and move a bit and the engine sounded very sweet. Send me a PM with any concerns you may have and I'll tell you as much as I can (or remember  Undecided) about the car. If I was looking for a LHD 1600TC Super then this car would be at the top of my list. The power steering looks 'factory fit' to me and I would consider it an advantage.

PS Also look at my post at http://www.131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=5947.0

Thanks Theo and all, yes she is a nice thing. I must admit i was suprised when the one off deal that Paul offered Steve on her was turned down due to what seems to of been adverse info about her from a member, as only you and one other member has seen her in the flesh? I knew you liked her and the other gent wanted to buy her at the full price but his other car did not sell, so i guess he liked it ? Before anyone else gets to excited about the mentioned discount, we could not actually accept the bid we were offered, especially not with what was asked to be included, but we did offer a price not far away from the bid (+?250 but not including a new MOT, still has one and its not exactly done a lot of miles since last being done, did offer to re-mot at time of collection for ?45 though). This was only as Paul is off to Italy again to try to replace the stock that has sold since the end of last year. So as long as the money to pay for her was recieved "before" he goes, we could of replaced the car and added it to the shipment on the transporter, there by reducing the total per car (the more cars the cheaper to ship pro-rata), this saving we would of then passed onto this 131, hence the extra reduction in price. I think that makes sence  Undecided. Having said that, if anyone on here wants her and can fullfill the requirements, contact me and I will see what I can do as he leaves wed/thursday.
Hopefully Steve, if we still have her when you are about down our way, when you see her in the flesh you will agree, or if in the mean time you wish to see extra pictures of the "areas of concern" please let me know as we have nothing to hide, in fact, with the knowledge of these cars on this site, you would be pretty dumb to even try  Roll Eyes Al the best to everyone.
