The Motor Sports Association has announced a special open day during the National Motorsport Week, on the 7th July at Silverstone.

Go Motorsport Live! Is aimed at introducing as many people as possible to get into motorsport - and will be using Silverstone just one week after the 2013 British Grand Prix.... and on the final day of National Motorsport Week 2013 (29th June to 7th July).
Go Motorsport Live! will showcase all the sport has to offer from local motor club events to future careers within a top Formula One team.

At Silverstone, the doors will be open for the public - admitted free of charge - and will give an opportunity to try a wide variety of different disciplines? ranging from local motor clubs displays of their activities, to MSA sponsored team and championship informative displays.

Personal trials in your own road car, and passenger rides in entry-level disciplines such as autosolos and production car trials will be available, along with marshals? clubs recruiting and valuable ways to gain experience cheeply..... as an introduction to both circuit racing and rallying.....
Silverstone will be donating hot laps and rally rides from their own schools, as well as tours of its world famous facilities.....
And Visitors will also be offered the chance to stand on the F1 podium.

As co-promoters of National Motorsport Week, the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) and its members will be offering careers advice for those seeking employment within the world leading UK motor sport industry. Young engineers will also enjoy special access to the Formula Student finals that are being staged at Silverstone over that weekend.

This is not something being done for just 2013.... the Motorsport week has lacked a flagship event, and its intended to run this sort of thing into the future.........

?Go Motorsport Live! has all the ingredients to become an effective Open Day that showcases many aspects of our sport,? says Colin Hilton, Chief Executive of the MSA. ?The timing is perfect, too. Those watching the British Grand Prix can, just seven days later, come to Silverstone and discover just how easy it is for them to get involved in the sport they?ve been following.?

Richard Phillips, Managing Director, Silverstone Circuit Limited, said: ?Silverstone are delighted to be supporting the Go Motorsport initiative by hosting this event. This open day is a great opportunity to demonstrate the number of different forms of motor sport that are available in the UK at various different budgets whether you are spectating, participating or even looking for a career in the sport.?

Championships, event organisers, motor clubs, teams and others wishing to promote their activities with displays at Go Motorsport Live! should contact Jess Fack, Development Officer at the MSA (jess.fack@msauk.org or +44 (0)7568 105 887). Public admittance ? including parking ? is entirely free on the day and no tickets are required.

Notes:
National Motorsport Week is jointly organised by the Motor Sports Association, governing body of UK motor sport, and the Motorsport Industry Association, the sport?s UK trade association.

Public admittance to Go Motorsport Live! is free but visitors must pre-register at www.GoMotorsport.net from Wednesday 15 May.
