The Motor Sports Association has announced a special open day during the National Motorsport Week, on the 7th July at Silverstone.
Go Motorsport Live! Is aimed at introducing as many people as possible to get into motorsport - and will be using Silverstone just one week after the 2013 British Grand Prix.... and on the final day of National Motorsport Week 2013 (29th June to 7th July).
Go Motorsport Live! will showcase all the sport has to offer from local motor club events to future careers within a top Formula One team.
At Silverstone, the doors will be open for the public - admitted free of charge - and will give an opportunity to try a wide variety of different disciplines? ranging from local motor clubs displays of their activities, to MSA sponsored team and championship informative displays.
Personal trials in your own road car, and passenger rides in entry-level disciplines such as autosolos and production car trials will be available, along with marshals? clubs recruiting and valuable ways to gain experience cheeply..... as an introduction to both circuit racing and rallying.....
Silverstone will be donating hot laps and rally rides from their own schools, as well as tours of its world famous facilities.....
And Visitors will also be offered the chance to stand on the F1 podium.
As co-promoters of National Motorsport Week, the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) and its members will be offering careers advice for those seeking employment within the world leading UK motor sport industry. Young engineers will also enjoy special access to the Formula Student finals that are being staged at Silverstone over that weekend.
This is not something being done for just 2013.... the Motorsport week has lacked a flagship event, and its intended to run this sort of thing into the future.........
