I Love all these mint continental 131's that keep cropping up but at the end of the day they are LHD and really what are they worth here in the UK ?

Huh?  A LHD currently at 8,000 euro or a RHD currently 9,000 Huh

Tough call as the LHD is probably in better condition and will most lightly sell for half the price of the RHD..........

Ciaran Angry I'm not using the black Sport as an example what I'm saying is if you find a mint or near mint LHD Racing, "yes" you will have a better car the rust issues will still be there but not nearly as bad as a UK Sport granted, but at the end of the day you still have a LHD 131 in the UK and the rusty Sport will always be worth more I'm afraid.....

106usj, I am afraid that's not right. Here we prefer LHD, although I also have an RHD Giulietta because the condition was great. I am sure finally the better most Original cars bring the better prices, no matter lhd or rhd. Of course it's a plus in the UK or Ireland when a car has RHD but in a lot of other countries it's a minus.

Looks like a nice Original car

Off course you prefer LHD I can understand that but my point is that an good genuine condition 131 Sport in RHD will be worth more in both Ireland and UK than an imported LHD mint 131 Racing and that's a fact, that's just the way it is here in the UK its not just the 131 a Ford escort mk2 RS 2000 is the same the ford boys don't pay top money for LHD. Imported versions but they will pay top money for genuine UK RHD cars.
I guess in Europe it will be the other way round where obviously LHD motors are in more demand than RHD and will fetch greater sale money.

True, but a mint LHD will Always be more valuable as a rotten RHD

Yes but i did not mention the word (rotten) I used the example of a good genuine condition RHD and a mint LHD  Grin
but I think we agree now.

Maybe rusty is not rotten, but for me there is a big difference between rusty and good genuine but maybe you have other ideas about that.  but at least we know what we mean. Wink

just to add more fuel to this debate, there are still undiscovered mk3s turning up in gardens &sheds etc whhich will yield all the bits to convert lhd to rhd, (an you get to have power steering too Wink Cheesy Smiley)

Wow, that's only 46,000 miles.  That must be why it looks so clean. S3 Wheels I think?

LHD or RHD....Huh  I'm in the UK and my Racing is LHD....

When you get into the car you notice that the steering wheel is on the "other" side.

After a couple of hours of keeping the car on the road and "on cam" you get out again and you notice that the steering wheel is on the "other" side.

Between getting in and out - there's just you and the Engine  Cheesy
