These never were that common in the UK.
I worked with a guy that had 2, first a red 1000 and when that was written off he got a kermit green 1275.
Good alternative to a 127.....even if it uses Mini running gear  Cheesy

It's a Mini engine. These were essentially Minis built under licence with updated Italian designed bodywork and interiors.

They're quite a mix match of manufacturers parts having the Mini front subframe with standard Mini engine/box arrangement and the rear suspension of the Fiat 127.

The later De Tomaso Turbo had the same engine as the Diahatsu Charade Turbo....weird association to find in the early 80's.

This was also a an unusual De Tomaso by Daihatsu I know of only one locally and very quick.

there was one in a garden near me years ago  just like  the one at the top but with the cherade turbo engine , i offered to take it away for him ,  but he said it was very rare and worth a fortune  Roll Eyes even though it was cover in mould  Grin
