131 Abarth featured on Top Gear

Did you see the 131 Abarth shown on Top Gear last night (Sunday 29/06/2008)? 
"Featured" might be the wrong choice of word for the title of this posting but there was a very brief glimpse of a 131 Abarth Rally car in blue and white livery with Series 2 rear lights. It was shown as part of a short clip of old rally cars driving very close to spectators.

Yes - I most certainly did! My wife Wendy heard it before any of us saw it, but as soon as it came into view the whole family jumped up off the sofa and screamed at the telly!!!!

A bit longer than 3 or 4 seconds air-time would be nice next time though

Still, at least it got a mention in the same breath as a Mitzi Evo 10 and the new Scooby STi

Infact TG was a great programme last night - 2 new Rally bred road cars, a snarling V10 engined RS6 (I'd still buy the M5 estate myself!) and then the totally awesome Merc AMG 6.2 CLK. I'm not generally a Mercedes Benz man - but this car was no ordinary Mercedes Benz!! What a superb noise! If only I could afford to put just one tank of petrol in it!
