After scrolling through lots of polls I noticed some great cars, some changed to Abarth replica's and some of you own an Abarth stradale. But, and correct me if I am wrong here, I didn't find a group 4 car owner or his car. Is there anybody out there who owns a real group 4 131 like I do?
I would surely like to have conversations with this person and share some experiences.Perhaps start a new poll? I think it could be very interesting and even useful for others as well.

Did you see this Topic Mike? - This car lives in Ireland but the owner is unfortunately not a member of the forum... Sad

It gets a lot of use on historic rallies around Europe.

Gee now you have made me think Mike.....not being an expert on either Abarth version I wouldn't like to argue the point...although I've always assumed it was a Group 4 car.  Huh

I'd certainly love it in my garage though... Smiley

Thats a great offer Mike. Have you seen the section of the website which has short articles on the S1, 2, 3 and supercharged 131s?

I've been thinking for a while that the series needs an article on the Abarth. Of course there are a number of books available on the car but it would be great to have a story written about the Abarth experience (Stradale and Rally versions) by an actual owner and forum member.

Would that be something that you'd like to have a go at some time..?  Smiley You can see the typical length and format. I think it would be a fascinating perspective for 131 fans.

Maybe 131R could write something similar for the SA Racing version...?  Wink

I will do that Kevin.

Fantastic - I can't wait to read it!  Smiley

Now we just need an article on the 131 Diesel version - Should be no shortage of volunteers for that one!  Grin

Hi Kevin,

I would love to a story about the rally version. Especially because what's written in books is often wrong. I noticed that through the years by own experience and by talking to other owners and suppliers. When I was running my club I wrote stories of almost every 131 in my magazine and I would like to continue that on this forum. Chance for me to inform people all over the world and not just in Holland.
Just tell me what to do.

That would be great to see Mike - Have you seen the other articles?

http://www.131mirafiori.com/131story.htm

They might provide some idea of what has been done already.  They are generally personal stories with some facts and figures thrown in and where the Supercharged version is concerned, quite a lot of research over the years.

The article can be as personal or factual as you like, mostly pictures or mostly text, whatever you like and think might be of interest to fans of the 131. When you have a draft you could send it on to Theo or me for publishing.  Smiley

That sounds like we have two very interesting articles to look forward to... Smiley

I don't understand French (and they don't understand me either) but this is a beautiful car. I surely hope that the owner is not planning to put the Abarth bodywork on the car. That would destroy it.

I think it is too late - The car has already been modified - I just can't find the thread/photos at the moment.  Sad

Hi Mike,

I am looking forward to your article!  Hope you enjoyed the other stories too!
Hope you go well with your GR4, and yes please keep the Walter R?hrl original. I know you did some repro's before so I was very pleased that you also think now to keep the left originals that way Smiley Smiley Smiley And of course I know you too from some years ago...............................

The orange Volumetrico was before already hugely modified, I know it since it was Mauro's car around 10 years ago. It's technique got a revision by then but I wasn't pleased by the bodylooks. Without sidestripes and filled, vinyl roof, trunk without lock, light tan dash with 124 Sport clocks, horrible wheels. The wheels and interior were corrected later but otherwise not. Although I think it is a very good and solid car. Nice to know, it was the last registered Volumetrico in 1984 but quite probably the shell was already produced in 1978 or 79.
Probably this was one of Abarths test cars.
