After a ten hour return trip of 505 miles (some 800kms) I have just returned from a visit to RSD  Grin

A really unassuming place with some superb work being undertaken - the quality is stunning  Shocked Every part of the Group 4 car is being remanufactured and it's surprising just how many parts are different from the Stradale homologation cars.

Kevin and his Dad are a couple of great guys - extremely skilful and knowledgeable about the cars, as well as rear wheel drive Escorts where they have made their reputation as champions. Wink

I'm really looking forward to seeing one of the completed 131s in action, which shouldn't be too long now.

I only wish I had a spare ?150k...... Cool

10 hours to drive 800 Kms? Did you take one of the 131s Si?  Smiley

So that's the price of a fully prepared rally car? I wonder is it possible
to buy a road going version...in blue?  Grin

10 hours was the total time between closing my front door to opening it again and included almost two hours at RSD as well as stops en-route in each direction - driving time was considerably less Kev  Wink

No, I didn't take any of my 131s as I had to take a complete set of 131 seats with me. Smiley

A fully prepared rally car can be bought for considerably less than 150k ? and the fun factor is similar):

Stefan an I bought this car four years ago for 3k ?, it was a VOC (Volvo Original Cup) car. 160 hp is surely less power, but, as stated, the fun factor was huge!

Unfortunately it was crashed in 2012 in Sweden  Angry

I think Robert makes a good point. You may never be happy about crashing your (rally) car, I'm sure damaging at 3K car is easier to stomach than one that set you back 150K Huh

I think you're both probably missing the point. Yes, sure you can buy a cheaper rally car, but a) it's not a 131, b) it's not a total replica of a thrice World Championship winning Italian car and c) if you've got ?150k to buy a rally car it can be assumed that you're in it to win and not just playing at it, by which I mean, money is surely no object.
