Title: Dipstick query Post by: kev131 on March 07, 2008, 06:00:13 PM The owner of a Fiat engined Morgan has been in touch to see if anyone can help with his query.
His dipstick has broken and he does not know which Fiat engine it belongs to. He is not sure if it is a 131 (unlikely) or a Croma or something else and has offered the attached photos to see if it jogs any one's memory? - It is 24.5 inches long - If you can identify for sure please respond. Definitely looks like the type with the oil level indicator sensor, so most probably from a Regata 100 (which was 1600TC) from the late 80's to early 90's. Certainly NOT from any 131 that I have ever seen. ;D
Whilst the Croma was similar, not sure that the one shown is from one. I had a series 1 2000ie Croma for 4 or 5 years and I don't recognise the dipstick as being from there. Title: Re: Dipstick query Post by: theredx19 on April 02, 2008, 08:05:54 PM Simon the croma had a seperate oil level dipstick located on the front of the oil pump and this one looks argenta like as the Regata did not have a corrigated finish but was smooth and similar to that of the Dedra. To cure this dipstick put in a proper old school one and place a 2 ohm resistor across the 2 wires ( who would have thought my father was the technical manager for Fiat Ireland) ;D ;D ;D
