I was looking for a local guy who services starters & altenators on Fri so i stoped to ask a guy for directions. Turns out he is a classic car restorer in his spare time and was working on an old Vauxhall car We got talking &  i told him about my 131 it turns out he has an engine & gearbox he had for a Minor project that he no longer wants & was going to dump.
Im going 2 see it through the week 2 see if its a 1.6 tc or 2.0 tc

Lucky you. If only I could fall here in Greece into someone who has a differential with disks instead of drums...

Right ive had this discussion before on the forum about engine numbers,
The engine number is usually on the block above the oil filter as it is on my 2.0l tc engine in the 131 and on my spare 2.0l tc engine.
Well i got to see this engine tonight at last, im sure its a 1600cc tc as it looks smaller than the 2000cc tc spare engine i have.
Any way i looked for the engine number above the oil filter and there is no number its just smooth on the steel & its not been ground off either im sure it was never there which is strange.
The only numbers are on the block as follows  132 CB 0A0 or 132 CB 0R0 its hard to tell.
and on the head 4372297
It is a weber 32 250 carb on it also.
Any one have any ideas.

I thing that my engine (1600 DOHC) starts with 132 C000 but I'm not sure I'll go to the resto tommorow to check it out. But I think that I have read somewhere in here a post about engine numbers...

106usj,  If its a 32 adf it should be a 1600 as 2000 were 34 adf, If there are no numbers measure the height of your 2000 cam cover as the 1600 is slightly shorter due to the stroke.

David.
Im not gonna get near it now for a few weeks but i will check that out.
David if you remember from my previous post a while ago i have a 132 20l tc engine in my 131 it has a 32 adf carb on which was one of the issues we all discussed at the time but strangly the spare 20l tc engine i got was a 132 engine also and again even that spare 20l tc came with a 32adf carb.
Strange ?

all my 131 2000s have had a 34adf and also I had a 132 ss  and that was a 34 so I think someone has fitted the 32 to yours as its a 1600 carb.

Yes David i agree the 2000cc tc uses the 34 adf  and the 1600cc tc uses the 32 adf carb but what im saying is its strange that the 132 20l in my 131 has the 32 adf and the spare 20l i have came with a 32 adf carb i must just have bad luck in that the two previous owners of my engines replaced the 34 adf carbs with 32 adf carbs  Shocked

Maybe they have sold their carbs seperately and just put "something that fits" so that they could sell the engines...

i have several of those.
every fiat 132 mk1 (1600/1800) had those. argenta volumex and turbodiesel also. my fiat 132 diesel has them because i swapped rear brakes from 132 1800. my lada has rear discs from fiat 125...

i'll be changing rear brakes from drums to discs on my 131 1600 so we'll be in contact. i'll also post some pics.
