A Latvian friend of mine who owns a VW Passat 1.6 petrol, single cam,16valve,turbo,2002year is looking for an engine. The timing belt cracked 12months after being fitted. To repair the engine will cost 2600euro,so a complete engine would be the answer. So if anyone knows of one Pm me,or phone me 0879800991.
I am lucky that i drive a Lada myself Wink Cheesy Grin Smiley.Eugene

Thanks Mark/Kes131.All the details i gave are correct.Almost all the VW Passats in my area are TDi diesels. This is a strange one and it is a VW engine.Maybe this petrol model wasn't sold in the UK.It will need a complete new head which can be got from VW at a cost of 2000 euro.
Thanks again Mark for taking the time to ask at the breakers yard and if possible maybe you can post the link for the breakers yard.
A the moment my friend is driving one of my LADA NIVAS Wink Cheesy. It is Much better than walking Grin>Eugene
