Guys,

I think that I have decided to come to Germany again in my Abarth, but as I have already posted, there is a nasty clutch bearing noise, which might last for ages but could prove catastrophic  Shocked I have sought several 'expert' opinions on the matter and most have said that even making the noises it does it doesn't mean it's likely to fail anytime soon, although it just might.

I intend to lay under my car tomorrow and see if there is anything obvious that I can lubricate or tighten - as there is the chance, albeit minimal, that it's something other than the bearing. Here's hoping. Tongue

I have a few options if the worst should happen whilst I'm away from home, but what I am asking is that you all bear with me if the worst should happen as I might need to be someone's co-pilot for a few days - please.

I might also be seeking a lift back to the UK, as I will probably leave the car in Germany for Enzo to sort out - if he is willing to take it on. Wink

Thanks for your understanding guys.

Best of luck with the plan Simon.

Do you want me to bring a spare clutch or do you have one?

Of course everyone will be understanding - Sure it could be any of us the day after. Smiley

Thanks Kev. Grin

If you can get the clutch in it might be a good 'insurance policy'. Thanks. Cool

See you on Monday - I'll be holding my breath for a week! Shocked

Simon, there are 2 places for emergency repair in and around Miesbach - one just down the road from the hotel (a professional garage run by a mate) and the private garage of a very good friend of mine, both fully equipped (actually, I spoke to Stefan, my friend, just this afternoon and he offered his help if needed in any case). So, if you (or Kevin) bring the proper clutch and/or bearing, installing it will be a matter of hours, not days  Smiley

215 should still fit and get you out of trouble. I would check to see if the spring fitted to the release arm to gearbox casing is still located, will help ease the pressure off the bearing.

Thank you all for your help and understanding guys.  Smiley I didn't want you all to think that I was simply recklessly undertaking the trip with a faulty car.

I hope that the same bearing fits every 131 TC clutch  Huh and if a 131 Sport clutch will fit in the short term it could be a 'quick win' - but we'll see. The bearing is my main concern at this point however - and my fingers are crossed. Grin Grin

Thanks again.
