sadly selling my 1975 132 1800es to make room for another car ,interior has the usual wear on the seats but otherwise its verygood and everything works, engine  sounds great  and revvy ,it drives fine but has little or no brakes (did not investigate yet ,)maybe only bleeding  ,the car has little surface spots all over and could really do with a full respray but i've driven worse, cromadora wheels are all good  as standard,,i have the bonnet, grill and front lights off  (gettin it ready for a sprayjob) Embarrassed. the sills need very little work at each end on both sides and the drivers door needs a little attention at the bottom corner ,underneath is solid as is everywhere else as far as i can see,the passenger side rear wheel arch has some cracking going on on the paintwork but have been told its from a previous dent and no rot,all in all its a v/good fiat 132.,the logbook needs to be applyed for?25 from the dvla, would rather any potential buyers come and view before making judgments and viewing is welcome, anything else please ask as im sure i forgot plenty, cheers

Jack,
you have been very honest in your assesment of the car and in producing good quality photos of the bad areas.
However like most of us that have owned FIATS in the past and had experience with just the sort of corroded areas you have identified you will know that its whats hidden behind those bad areas that is of concern.
The car looks like it can be saved but will need a bit of money spending on it, the additional cost of welding/mechanical repairs a re-trim and a respray on top of the 1200E purchase price is probably what is putting people off.
Its impossible to put a price most of the repairs, however if you were to investigate the brakes and find out that all they need is bleeding that would help a prospective buyer as then you have a rolling shell with brakes. Having No Log book is also another negative point which you have been honest in pointing out, why not apply for the log book? that would also make her easier to sell.
The wheels and running mechanics alone are probably worth 500-600E.
I hope im not sounding too negative here, you asked for some feed back and as ive been looking at a few 132's recently (on the net) and have some idea of what condition and price these cars are selling for i thought i would make comment here, Kev131 might be ale to give you some more advise as he knows more about the 132 models than i do, any comments Kev?
Regards
Steve

Hi Jack and Steve.

It's great to see that there is another 132 survivor out there but I suspect that there are not enough enthusiasts of this car around to ensure that this one gets saved. As Steve said the wheels, back axle and engine surely have a value to someone but the body is likely to give the impression of many hours work before it is right again. Then you have the damaged interior which is hard to find a replacement for and unless it is done.... it would show up a lovely new coat of paint. If you had a second car with better body and interior but with a shot engine.... you might make one good car....and maybe it could appeal to someone else on this basis.

Observing market prices anything older than series 3 seems to be less desirable. Also remember Dave's pristine S2 blue car with small front corner damage but including all parts to fix only made ?1600 on Ebay. Compare it also to the white low mileage car also on Done deal at ?3750 - Would it be possible to get your car to that standard for ?2500..? ...and the white car does not seem to be moving even at that price. I'd suggest offering a 50% reduction and see what happens. Best of luck with it.  Smiley

Do you have any nice outdoor pics of the car fully assembled..? Sometimes this can provide an aspirational view of the car and spur interest...?

hi steve and kev, thanks for your replys and imput  .i've been around this car thourghly and inner wings, arches front and back, floors and inner sills and inside the doors etc are spot on  ,,underneath the car is completely solid  so i can safely say theres no hidden rust /rot,,i  think  i've actually made the car out to be worse than it actually is to be fair and i have to say it looks worse in the pics than it is ,mechanically the brakes a good service and a timing belt change is what it needs ,i did have the areas needing welding looked at and a days work as nothing  major ,it does need to be taken back  and then a full respray, i can assure you the car will be saved as its to good to be broken,, i now agree to the prospective buyer it might look exspensive and and alot of work.  what i think i will now do is sort the mechanics myself and get the welding done and then put aside till i can finance the retrim and the sprayjob as i dont want a cheap blow over plus the fact i spent my spare cash on a fiat131 recently Wink ,once again thanks for the imput lads as this 1 is now off the market Grin

I'm personally glad to hear that Jack especially as it as solid as you say - It would be a shame to see another one of these great cars be broken up. The doors look the worst of it - Maybe the chap who bought all those ex Gerry Kennedy parts might have some good doors available..? Smiley

I'll look forward to watching the progress.
