The S3 is driving really well and seems to have more power with the sport carb. It's hard for me to make a direct comparison as I think the S3 carb has been slowly failing for a long time and I have got use to the progressive lack of performance.

Chris thanks for the information about the Ford unit, my plan is to repair the S3 carb I 'll make some investigations about it or maybe turn the whole thing over to a Weber specialist.

Good to see you've got her running nicely again Phil. Cool

As Bobby has said, the Sport carb has bigger jets than fitted to the standard S3 2000TC carb and therefore usually offers a more spirited drive. I swapped carbs from my black Sport (JPD969V) to my brown S3 Super (PBL712X) back in the day and it drove much nicer. Grin Grin Grin

That would be great Jas, when you get the opportunity if you could have a rummage in your parts dept. There's no great rush so don't put yourself to any trouble.

Took the car for a 50 mile drive today, half on fast dual carriage way and half on slower back roads. I am happy to report that the car never missed a beat and didn't stall once. Grin Also the car now starts much better than it did before. Cool

On Monday I am getting my CO guess setting checked by my local MOT station, it'll be interesting to see how far out I am.  Huh

Wow Theo, your car looks stunning Smiley Very shiny Grin

Just back from the doctors... but I am allowed to do the trip Smiley

Had/have troubles with some heavy pain in my stomach in the last two weeks Embarrassed Undecided but they checked everything and I got some pills and drops...

All I have to do is be careful with the meals and I am not allowed to drink alcohol, but I am sure I can handle that Grin

Really looking forward to meet you all again!

We start tomorrow at 8.00  Smiley
