32 adf carb

Hi All,

Have a 32 adf carb which ran well on my last 2ltr twin cam, however, I have put it on a different 2ltr with a K&N filter and it feelsnlike its underpowered and uses more fuel. The engine feels flat. I left it into a garage to see if they could sort it but no avail.
Would I be correct in thinking that the problem is due to the K&N filter allowing/drawing in more air than required thus making the mixture wrong. I have checked all fuel lines and filters, the timing etc but cant sort it. They only adjustment I can see on the carb is to adjust the tick over via the mixture screw.

I can only squeeze 80-85mph out of it at the mo. 
 
Can anyone tell me the correct size/specification for the original jets, and if I need to re-jet the carb to cope with the extra air flow, what size should I use and where can I source them.

you don't need to rejet the carb, you probably need to adjust it properly, or perhaps to rebuild it (throught cleaning and new gasket and membranes)
i bolted on K&N straight onto my weber 42/42dgv and it ran excellent on petrol and LPG. i just needed to adjust the idle a bit.

by the way, might be that 32 is a bit "slim" for a 2 liter???

yes, it is to small, that carbs on my 1.4 cl . all 2.0ltr have the 34 adf . You can 't adjust any thing ,just float level and idle mixture ,
 Take it apart blowing all the jets out ,there most likely dirt in a jet some where and check accelerater jet pump squirting in

it may well be a timing problem, even a couple of degrees retarded will give a noticable power loss and more fuel useage.

Do yourself a favour, track down a 34 ADM weber, there are always some on Ebay OZ, (www.ebay.com.au) you can pick them up for $30 to $50OZ. They were standard fitment to some Ford "Falcons" over here for a lot of years, they sold in the 100,000s. I got my last one for $28 including postage. They're the same as a Fiat 34 ADF/ADFA, except the main venturis (chokes) are 3mm larger on the primary and secondary. They're a great improvement over the stock Fiat carb. I've got a couple of Fiat carbs in the shed, I may even have an ADM if you're interested.

A rebuilt one ready to go. Swap a couple of bits off yours, bolt it on and drive off in to the sunset.

Once did this the other way round, fitted a 34 adf sport carb onto a 1600tc supermirafiori and that went better

I should have at least two single carbs for 131 . I am not  sure what type  they are , but both are professionally rebuilt and in absolutely working condition.

If anybody is interested I can check in my garage  ...

I think the carb suit to a small engine like 1.4L and not for 2L, better change to bigger size one than you know how fast yours bella can go

Seems far too small to me.   I have two 45mm for my 2 litre engines.

Hi Keith.What Tas 131 has said would be the best option for the road.Twin 45s are all about power to WEIGHT ratio thats why i have twin 40s with full head job. Cheers Gary

I am surprised with your SHAPE you can get away with those little 40mm carbs as the wind resistance would be vast.
