Looks a lovely engine, I would suspect the seller has a limited market though. Well out of my price range. I cound buy a Mercedes S600 for the same money!

Lovely looking engine but not exactly cheap :o It was destined for a Triumph Spitfire too!

By the sound of the description it looks like it was a GC 'development' engine as a lot of the parts are to GC spec/design, so whoever gets this engine will have to wait to see whether it is better than the FIAT oe spec'd unit - but I'm pretty certain it will be ;)

I note also that it comes without any ancillaries - no carbs, no inlet manifold, no exhaust manifold, no starter, no alternator, no fuel pump, no distributor - to name the obvious, so once you've got this engine you've got to finish building it before you can use it :-\

Lovely engine nonetheless - but I do wonder why the owner started with a 1600 and not a 2000 ???

Someone was prepared to pay ?4,000 for it with the 'buy it now' button ;D Good on them! I only hope it's destined for a FIAT - but somehow I doubt it! :-\

Yeah but hey its a Guy Croft the motor will have worn out in about 700Km of use anyway so who cares,
Guy can get big numbers out of fiat motors but the are just sprint motors with lots of shiney bits on them so they are over priced espicaly with the upkeep needed to keep them going Bits Of Italy build a much better motor that make near the same power but last for a hell of a lot longer than those of crofts motors,
You dont hear much about the BOI engines because they are built to order and i know of 4, 2 sold to customers and 2 used by Philip Buggee (BOI owner) in his fiat 124 spider abarth replica one of which has done over 10000km of tarmac rally and curcuit racing, a 2L that it caperbul of 8000rpm all day every day and is not dry sumped, i know this because Phil is my dad
