I think it would be a very good parts car :) or would come in very handy if you ever wanted to do a conversion from a LHD to a RHD ;D

I wonder if buying a LHD 131 and then scrapping a RHD one to convert it is going to be the next craze? ;D ;D ;D

I think that series 3 will struggle to find anyone to take it as a restoration.
Its fate im afraid is a parts doner at best !
I think converting that series 2 to a good practical RHD justifies scrapping the series 3 and i would not feel bad for doing it, as after you stripped the series 3's good mechanical bits there would be nothing left but a metal siv  :)

Yeah I've not seen it in person but I'm guessing it's gonna need a fair bit of welding.

I hope not , it must be worth saving , there are enough spare parts knocking around with out scraping a rolling complete car .. :(

The car does not have the same photo's as only took them yesterday, and there is no buy it now at ?500. The car is a easy project for someone to restore, ive seen alot worst ones about, if not im sure there are alot of good parts left for someone out there.

Most people don't have the time, money, skills, facilities and inclination to do a full restoration on a 131, particularly a four door.

Also when there are rust free LHD cars available many people would rather spend more on a LHD import than go through with a full restoration.

However, there are people out there who like a project and you never know this might get bought and restored.

I often wonder what happens to the cars we have seen that have sold to people who don't seem to be active on the forums.

So I'm guessing you bought it from the seller who had it advertised recently then?

Yeah i bought it locally because being so rare im sure there is a profit init, personally id rather restore a 131 sport than a 4 dr, I had loads of sports years ago so now looking again, just hard to find one at a sensible price.

Yep sport prices have gone up and up. It's unusual to find a cheap one nowadays. Even 4 door prices have risen recently. Did you buy the sellers Argenta too?

However they are much rarer than 131s and do have a small but enthusiastic fanbase ;)

Do you know if anyone bought it?

I would keep it as a parts car, if you ever got a LHD Sport/Racing and wanted to RHD it :) its always nice to have two 131's I only had my 131's a few week and found another one ;D

Firstly good luck with the sale !
I agree keep the 4 door as a spares car if you have storage space to do so.
I don't think a 4 door in that condition will ever bring any profit I'm afraid, but if you like 4 doors I don't disagree with spending bucks on a restoration to get one restored to mint condition.
If I could afford and justify the transport costs I might buy it for parts but to get it up to Scotland is not practical.

Yeah that's something a lot of our Southerners don't realise. It's expensive to move a car without Tax and MOT 'up North'.

131s rarely seem to come up in my part of the country which means it's expensive to go and see them (which unless they are really cheap I think you should always do) and if you do buy one the transport costs can add a significant amount to the cost of the car.
