Hi Guys
I`m thinking of having banded wheels on my 131  Roll Eyes Anybody here drive their Fiat with banded steel wheels ?

Any pictures or comments  Grin

Do you mean, cutting the rim and welding in a metal band to widen the rim?

Used them before, they are OK, if done properly, but don't let any monkey weld it, if it fails you are in for a big shunt.

Quite a common mod done on various cars on the Retrorides site. As said above if done properly there shouldn't be any problems.

Pedja from Serbia (forum member djape1977) made a lot of these for his 132 and his Lada. Have a look at http://www.131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=4616.msg37822#msg37822. Pedja hasn't been on this forum for a while as he was lured away but he may still be receiving PMs so try contacting him.

hi, i had banded wheels on my 131.they were 7x14 on the rears ,on 185/60 tyres. and the did scrap the arche;s a bit with four people in. my mate dave had the same  all round, and on the front [as far as i can remember] were fitted 175/70 x14 tyres but you had to remove the plastic arches or they would rub.
