Title: Italian cars meeting in Czech Republic
Post by: wak131 on October 30, 2008, 05:24:47 PM
I can?t believe i didn?t notice this earlier!
Just 50 kms from Prague, in Poděbrady town, there is this Fiat meeting every year since 2000. Today i found a few galleries from these meetings.

There are these two excelent looking 131?s in the ?08 meeting gallery and many more beautys in the others.

Enjoy!

I surely will contact the Czech Fiat Classic car forum members to tell them about 131mirafiori.com and 3ma, and I hope they are hardcore enough to take part in it. Well according to the look of the cars, they surely are hardcore enough 8)
I?ll get you informed about their reactions.

Hi Miro and all,
I was posting a thread on the Czech Fiat classic car forum on the 2. November
with a short story about my 131 love, 131mirafiori.com and the 3MA, since that time 32 views of the post and no reply..

The forum is not very active, not comparable with 131mirafiori. There are no active 131 owners on the forum as 131?s are very rare in our area. Most discussion is about 127, 850, 500 and 600 models.
Possible reason for no reply and no happiness about 131Mirafiori is language barrier as most of the classic Fiat lovers are people over 40 who usualy don?t speak much english.

I would like to take part in the next event near Prague. Could you help me get in touch with the right people.
About the Italian classic car meeting next summer,? let me be your guide and translator Miro . I?m also plannig to go there but i?m not sure if my car will be ready, maybe even by bus or if you will be drivin through Prague I could be your copilot and navigator ;D

The term for the next meet is not yet set, so I?ll let you know.

Edit: The term for the 2009 Poděbrady meet will be set on a Prague club session 13.12.

Ales,

It is a deal !  Keep me (us) posted !

Miro

And I always thought there were many 131's in CR , anyway , language should not be a problem as using national language on this forum is standard.

See you in Prague ...

Yeah, that?s the deal Miro ;)

What a can say 131?s were sold here in Czech rep. just in the times of the first series 1300 and 1600 ohv?s. Some of them were earlier to be seen around my place in Prague, but now it is very rare to see one.
What you can see here is a good base of Lada?s (no original F 124?s) and Fiats 125p?s.

No problem with national language here, but there could be a problem with a possible discussion with people on the meeting, because I?m really worried that just a few of them speak english.
But anyway, my technical english and word-stock in motoring is better than my regular english and grammar, so there should be no problem with translation.

Great,

Re: language : by experience Polish and Czech are close enough to communicate , especially if people are interested in the same thing !

I spoke with the FCC club moderator after a club session and got the date of 18th April 2009 for the next Fiat Classic car meeting in Poděbrady.
I think my sweetheart will be rebuilt till that time and we join the session with Miro.

Its confirmed now.

The Italian Cars Meeting held by the Fiat Classic Car Club of Prague will take place on 18.  April 2009 in Pardubice town, some 100 kms east from Prague.

There will be a special contest for all Italian cars produced till the year 1979 that consists
of an orientation run, 60 kms around the Pardubice town and tasks solving, like showing manouvering skills and knowledge of motorism.

After last year succesfull game, this year the show will include a costume rating, so every car crew will be scored for a period costume matching the cars year of production.

The contest fee is 12 Euro. One can stay in a cottage over the weekend with a price of 8 Euro a night.

One can also use the clubs testation of historical originality of a car.

I won?t participate in the contest as my 131 is 1982, but will be there for sure to see the beauties and making a lot of photos.

So who will join me? Friends from Poland, Germany, Austria at least I hope :)

Hi wak131,

If it was the week before i.e. Easter, I would try and come as the wedding I have been invite to is on April 11th. :-\ Unfortunately I have another appointment that I cannot miss back in England on the 18th - sorry.

The wedding is to be held in a Hluboka Castle, Hluboka nad Vltavou. To be honest, I'm quite nervous about coming to Czech (and have not yet accepted the invitation) as I cannot understand or speak a word of the language :(

Perhaps I'll start another thread under General Discussion (so as not to hijack this one) and you (and anyone else in the know ;)) can give me lots of information about staying in the Czech Republic.

Thanks very much

Simon

18 April !!!

This is too early, my engine will net be ready by than ...

My two fiats are 1980 , so  i would miss on the event ...

Sorry , can't make this year , but please keep all of us posted as to the interesting events in CR.

I have a few events in Poland I want to recommend . There is what is called a Classicauto Cup ( 3 track days plus a very nice rally as well as  the Rally of the Bisons (both for those more sports oriented) as well as a series of vintage rallies (part of International Championship of Poland of Vintage Cars, - all cars 30 years old + can participate , and  those just under age can take part as "guests" )

I will post full callandar soon.

Miro

Yeah, it?s a pitty, so early and not accepting our sweethearts for the event..  :'(

I hope my new 2.0TC will be ready, but even if not, i would go with the 1.6 as it is now just with rebuilt body and suspension.

I?ll surely keep you informed about the show and any other events that?ll take place here.

Yes please, I?m interested in similar events in Poland.

Fantastic collection of pictures - Really outstanding standard of cars. Love that 600 with the coupe rear lights!  ;)

If you mean the blue 600 with the wide arches, the rear lights are from a Brava Kev ;) ;D ;D (yeah, I know, sad git alert!) I love the look too, radically different but somehow looks good. Looks like there's a meaty powerplant hiding behind the rear seats of that car too :o Have you got any more details about it wak131?

Whoops! - Publicly shamed..yet again!!! :)

Of course you are right Simon. In fact when the car was launched, I can remember a journalist's extreme description of these rear lamps.......something like blood oozing from 3 parallel slices to skin!? :o

Yes, it was a really nice meet. The cars were in a good standard and not too "over-polished" just nice 8)
Sadly there were just two 131?s, the pistachio green mint series I 1600, that is a regular member of Fiat meetings and my friends 1600 OHV series II that is a hybrid of 1st to 3rd series parts and a Sport/Racing grill on the top of it:) But luckily he bought it with the plan to restore it to the standard of series II.
Hopefully my other friend and me will join the numbers of 131?s next year with a rebuilt Sport and a 131 CL.

The blue 600 had a few parts of a Brava donor installed ;D Modified bumpers, 4 out of 6 rear bloody lights, a 1.6 16V longitudinaly seated mid mounted engine, 4 disk brakes and probably a few more. But i?m not sure about the rear axle. Once I saw a Trabant 601 with a CRX engine mounted in
the back as complete with somehow reversed gearbox to allow rwd, but this was a transversely mounted unit.. I didn?t meet the owner of this "special" so more info to come later as i want to find it out.
From most angles the car looked very nice and agressive, even the front bumper with the link to an Abarth style isn?t too bad, but the rear is horrible in my opinion. The light are nicely implemeted but the complete shape of the back doesn?t corespond with the car. Anyway i like this kind of radical tuning with some taste.
