Thats the same car that was in Armagh last week and sold for around ?5000. Wonder why the new owner is selling it after only owning it a week?

Seems well overpriced in my opinion.  Huh

Are we sure it definately sold on ebay, not just spoof bidding?
Seems a bit of a quick turnaround for not alot of profit to me?
Cant help but agree about it being overpriced, that said, makes me feel better about sinking more and more money into mine!!

Interesting. The pictures show the cars condition better than the previous ad. I'm with Roger and I'm also guessing someone bought it and then discovered it was worse than they thought Roll Eyes

In reality it looks quite good when you consider some restorations what's the worst it can be?

The floor pans are gone

The scuttle has rusted through.

The Chassis rails are always gone, so that doesn't count.

Sills always rot away

Guess I need to count my blessings! I've only got 3 out of 4 on your list, not quite sure how my scuttle has escaped the demon rust!

If the sills, floorpans and chassis rails have gone then there's virtually nothing left Roll Eyes

Most people just don't have the skills, time, inclination or money to complete such a large job.

You basically just end up building a new shell. Then you still have all the exterior panels to do. The previous seller was also selling one of Yagmur's roof panels so even that was rusty Roll Eyes

I cheated and just cut it way on one and got lucky on the other Grin

Ya I did a roof, not so funny for a novice I can tell you, its having enough flange left underneath to weld to that's the problem.

To me one of the downsides of the increase in 131 interest is that as we are beginning to see, some people will now spend thousands on pieces of scrap Shocked

Hi dave,

If its for own use, is that bad?   I find it urksome ? when people buy them for profit and just sit on them for years.

I guess it just puts the cars out of reach of many people. I'm lucky as I'm not interested in getting a sport and already have 2 131s but if I didn't have one I would find it very hard to find one I could afford now.

If you want a sport and need to spend five grand or more to get a rotbox that needs thousands spent on it to make it roadworthy then few enthusiasts have a chance of getting one now.

I may well have a go at a four to two door conversion if I ever get the others finished, it may not be perfect but it would only be for family so no worries really, but even then four doors will become scarce by then.  I hate this Thema, it's fast and comfy but still FWD
