An Austin Rover dealer on London's North Circular Road, D. J. Ketteringham, is planning to sell up and has, among his liquidation stock, a 1987 Fiat Regata 85 Super in blue, registration E824 XGK. The car has been off the road, but stored under cover, since at least 1997 and is reported to be near-immaculate. For details of the car click the link below:

If you're interested (I'm not) you better be quick and you might get a real bargain. You can email the garage on djketteringham@gmail.com or call +44 (0)20 8452 7825. All prices are said to be ?sympathetically negotiable' so the Regata might be the bargain of 2014  Wink

Chris where are you, this is yours Wink

My dad bought one of these for ?50 and traded it on in the days. Served his mate well as a runner round. Don't rot as bad as 131's either.

I know the garage so popped in today for a look,  OMG definitely like being in a time warp,  the car has been in the showroom for sale since is was a year or 2 old and is had and still has had the same asking price on the screen ever since the day it arrived in the showroom !  The car is spotless apart from a 1 or 2 minor knocks on the bodywork and a cracked headlamp but the car is a one off and totally original and certainly rust free as the car has not been outside the warm showroom in over 25 years !  Do I don't I or have I enough wheels around the house and as I currently have no garage to keep her warm and dry.  Seems a crime to leave her outside after all this time inside  in the warm showroom.  Def a car for a collector who appreciates a Regata and a cheap intro to a classic Fiat.  ?2.250 with a new MOT will buy it.

I don't think the money will be an issue Bobby. All depends upon condition.

When was the last time you saw a Regata for sale? Let alone one in nice condition. Who'd have thought that an S3 1600CL 131 would be worth upwards of ?4k? Back in the day we'd have struggled to sell one for ?400! Prices for classic and semi-classic cars are on the up and the time to buy is now, before we are all priced out of the market. Undecided
