New Old Car Show

For some time now we have been asked to find a suitable venue to hold a static show which can be held in all weather as opposed to carrying on holding an event in Kilbroney Park in the hope it will not be cancelled due to bad weather prior to the event.

We have tried to find such a venue in the Newry & Mourne Council area but while we did look at several locations there none proved suitable.

We have looked in detail at other locations across N I from as far away as Lisburn to Ballykelly. From all the locations we have singled out Ballymena Showground?s as the most suitable venue.

We can now confirm we will be holding a static event there known as The AOVC Classic Show for all types of old vehicles (Cars, Commercials, Tractors, Motor Cycles, Scooters, Stationary Engines, Steam Engines etc) on the last Saturday in June each year. The first event will be next year on Saturday 27th June 2009.

Vehicles will be parked on hard standing and there will be space for those who wish to come in a Caravan or Motor Home and spend the week-end.

We will be having the regular Autojumblers, Traders, Market Stalls, Amusements, Food Stalls, Radio Station, Remote Control Cars, Club Stands, individual entries and in addition a Craft Fair etc.

Ballymena Showground?s are extremely easy to get to with no need to go in to the Town being accessed via the carriageway on the main Ballymena - Coleraine Road.

Put 27th June 2009 in your Diary now for the AOVC CLASSIC SHOW.

We thank all the individuals and Clubs that supported the Kilbroney Event and look forward to seeing you all on Saturday 27th June at Ballymena Showground?s.
