Series 2 base car (not a super) with series 3 Supermirafiori bumpers and a series 1 grille and headlights from a special?

Anoraks on Gentlemen!

Yes, I'd have to agree with Dave on that. A series 2 CL (all doors have chrome window surrounds, the L only has a chrome strip across the bottom edge) (unless of course the doors came from a 'donor car' Huh) with a series 1 grille and headlamps, diesel bonnet and lots of Series 3 'additions'. Interesting to note the series 3 dash and glove box (one piece hinged lid type) but still fitted with a series 2 instrument cluster.? Smiley?

Perhaps the 'donor car' was a series 3 Diesel Super. Huh If so, I'd have taken the wheels too! Grin

Dave you forgot the series 3 internal door trim and cappings and the series 3 door mirrors too Grin Grin

I'm always surprised at how much more room there is under the bonnet of a push-rod/Over head valve engined car than there is under the bonnet of the twin cam engined cars. Mind you, certain market cars (USA) were fitted with the TC engines from the outset weren't they, so I suppose it was just a matter of time before they filtered through into European production. Grin I'm glad they did though Grin Cool Grin Cheesy Grin Cool
