Fellow 131ers - Does anyone fancy a day out in Belfast this Saturday?

If the day is fine I think I will head off around 6.30am to be in place to join a growing list of Italian cars meeting on the M1 north of Dublin.

Mike & Marty have said that they will come (3 orange 131s).

Is anyone else interested? Pat will have his fabulous Alitalia liveried Stratos there - I've seen it - It's stunning!

Quick report on this event - Headed off at 6.30am with Kim in her Fulvia with a planned meetup with John in Roscrea with his 'grale where we headed to the M1 and the first planned meet up at the City North hotel. A good selection of Italians here and at 11 we headed up the motorway to meet a second group (incl Marty & Mike) at Dundalk.

Arrived at the Belfast meet with few incidents and took part in a very enjoyable meeting with a huge selection of cars from the last 4 decades - 82 in total. The orange boys created their own dramatic entrance arriving in convoy and managing to park together at what felt like a 45 degree angle!? Shocked

We met up with Chris 131 who updated us on his plans for his own Abarth replica which has a target cpompleton date of the end of the summer - Plenty of time for 3MA08!? Chris - Please pop some details on the Project section of the forum!? Smiley

Andy's Abarth was there along with his 600 and Pat had his Stratos..as well as the news that he is bringing in a very special 131 in the next few weeks. Watch this space...!

We also discovered that another 131 Abarth lives in Ireland - Belonging to a collector of Italian finery - It came from France originally and was in top class condition. Some pics...

We stayed for about 3 hours but a long drive home beckoned, and the orange boys stuck together with the motivation of a steak dinner at Mike's comfortable and welcoming hotel in Dunleer - Cheers Mike - Much appreciated break in the journey.? Wink

The reaction from other traffic to the 3 Orange 131s was a treat, the highlight was the Mitsubishi full of females who I'm sure were throwing skimpy bits of apparrel at Marty!

Saturday was a very long and hot day - 15 hours door to door with about 10 spent driving in a car that had it's heater stuck on!!? - Jacquie detected an unusual odour from my sandals when I got home...! Roll Eyes

A sterling effort by all of you Orange 131 Boyz. Very well done! Looks like you had some excellent weather too. I'm sorry I couldn't make it this year - perhaps next time. Grin

Another red 131 Abarth eh? Is it my imagination or are they becoming 'common' Shocked
