This is to balance out the "saddest 131" thread!? Grin

Do you have a photo that tells you why you like 131s so much. Here's one of mine to start it off.? Grin

Do you really like that Kev?
Sorry, but it looks so very wrong to me. In fact I would vote it for the "saddest" thread. The colour is wrong, the wheels are wrong, the silver trim is extremely wrong and is that bird poo on the front bumper? And to top it all it's a Sport/Racing with a sunroof! VERY wrong!

Yeah thats a nice picture Theo.

I guess if we all had the same favourite it would be a boring world!? Cheesy

Acknowledging that my favourite 131 is a Sport/Racing and not an Abarth, this is my favourite colour scheme and therefore the basis of one of my favourite 131 pictures. The silver bumpers were available on the Sport and although the car has probably been painted it's fairly close to the original for my taste.? Here are a couple more photos to see if the bid poo removal will make any difference to you!? Wink

Yes the wheels are non standard but 15inchers do so much to enhance the Sport/Racing and I do like this particular design!

Check out that cool rear boot spolier!!!!? Grin

I'll agree with you on that Kevin but sorry to say the car with the silver trim still doesn't do it for me at all.

The silver bumpers were available on the Sport

In the UK we only got the black trim (although Fiat Spare Parts departments listed a lot more colours which were not available)  and colours for the Sport were limited to Orange, Silver and Gunmetal. Black was also introduced in the end. I've never seen silver trim although I know light grey was available and sometimes referred to as 'silver'. As with all the Sport/Racing trim colours it had a matt finish and not shiny gloss silver as seen in the photo above!

The plastic trim appendages of the 131 Sport/Racing were a new and unique feature in car design and there was nothing like it then or since. A few others tried (VW Golf, even Citroen Saxo and to a certain extent Strada Abarth) but none managed to achieved the bold macho look of the 131 Sport/Racing.  For the bold macho image to have maximum effect there must be a lot of contrast between the car colour and the plastic add-on trim bits. That's why Silver on silver doesn't work for me and why black with black trim is the worst colour for a 131 Sport/Racing in the UK (sorry again  Lips Sealed and sorry Simon!   Cheesy).

Silver is a good colour for a 131 Sport bit it must have  black trim!   Grin

I assume that this is a very old photo Theo as the car looks impeccable!

I wouldnt care about the colour combination if I could get one in this condition. But I do agree orange and silver bumpers do not go together well!
