Well, customs here is more or less te same but perhaps not as strict and predictable. Here it is kind of lotery. You can import without taxes for a certain fee but car part should all pay 25% of the value of the invoice. The problem? is that if they do not believe in the invoice they have a table from where they get a value for the part. If they go to this table they kill you with the tax...
Used parts are not allowed. If they suspect that the part is used they scrap it. Customs are a plague everywhere. The other problem here is that 1 Euro is 4.5 pesos so....
I will keep looking to see if I can find these Top Mounts here. If I do not find them I will order them from Yagmour and play lotery.

Ok I have some Issues with 131 front suspension as well

the problem is that with the nyloc nut bottomed out on the thread on the top of the shock, there is still a 15mm gap between the shoulder and the washer - the silentbloc mounting flange is maybe 3-4mm thick at most.........

so the top of the shock is not captive, when the suspension is compressed it goes loose and rattles around.I dont know if I'm missing a spacer or bearing up there or not?  or if it has something to do with mixing early and late suspension components, or the machining on the top of the shocks maybe?

Spring and shock

Lastly, the shocks are BOGE, P/N  1  0211  27  520  5
Anyone able to shed some light on if these are just standard replacement parts or some kind of sports/racing shock?

beats me what the problem is, i would just extend the thread if i were you. if you don't have the tool required to do so, go to your local hardware store and buy some big washers.

Here,s a photo of the two different shock absorber tops side by side, one is earlier than the other, the only difference is in the length of the thread on the top.
I have added a couple of thick washers simply to act as a spacer under the nyloc nut, see second photo.

Testament!

This may be that your shocks may be for a different model. Will look at mine and let you know what  I see  there .

Ah ok, I can make up some spacers no problem - Is this different shock end an OE fiat thing or something or only on after market shocks where they are probably using the same shock insert for a number of different cars with different mountings welded on the bottom.

Some socks (and other parts) "almost fit"  but the aftermarket seller will sell it to you. Sometimes ahe ones you exactly need ara not available and hence " some fitting problems"

Their are two different Top Mounts an early and a late one.
Here is a photo of both type's of top mount.
The shockabsorbers you have are for the top mount shown (not fitted).

Yes, exactly. Top is the later and the bottom one is the earlier type. I have never owned a car with the earlier type. I think (could be wrong) that only the series 1 had the earlier type.
