No it can't. It's meant to be used with a standard 131 distributor with contact points.

The 131 electronic distributor and electronic module will produce a much better spark than you'll get with this Abarth unit. Just mount the Abarth unit in your engine compartment so it looks nice and leave the 131 Sport electronic distributor and control unit in place.

Thotos,

Thank you.

I agree that it looks really Abarth good but I will follow your advise and stay with the 131 electronic ignition I currently have. I am glad my electronic ignition is superior ( I will go for performance  not looks)

You just saved me some money. Thanks again.

Parrish is in the process of fitting an OMEX ignition system to his 131. See his post at http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=2705.msg18946#msg18946 and contact him for details or have a look at http://www.needforspeed.co.uk/htmlpages/techOMS01.htm for details.

Even points are good but it is setting them that people have trouble with as my little 124 1600 is still on the original point setup and it is well able to sit on the arse of a 131 sport with electronic ignition but MSD do a very simple and good system....

Get the 131 down here and we give it a seeing to but 400cc less and only 3bhp less  Shocked Shocked just remember it is the original of the sports species....
