Greetings!

Would anyone be so kind, to measure the distance between the red arrows on the picture? I want to change my rear lights to the ones on the picture [series 3 I think], and I have to modify the panel, because they don't fit.
Thank you in advance!

Balazs

The measure is 80 mm for the Mk III,however there is a Mk II on your picture.Still i think that the width on both series (Mk II & Mk III)is the same.Any anoraks to correct me?

Hello!

Thank you for your answer, but the width of that part is not the same on mk II & III. I attached 2 pictures, on the first there is my car (it was made in '79, so it should be a mk II, correct?). And I want to change my rear lights, to the ones on the second picture (which I thought was a mk III, but maybe I was wrong  Undecided ). And those lights (on picture 2), are "taller" and less wide, than the ones on the first picture. This is why I need your help with the measurement mentioned above.

first picture is from a third series, and second picture from a second series. I don't know what size is second series strip but I think is less taller than your car's.

Does that make mine a 2 or a 3? I always thought the 3 had the twin headlight grill, same diameter lights! The measurement as indicated in the first post is 80mm on my car.

No difference from italian production if we centrate to grills, in effect in Italy we had this twin light five barrels grill too, but was principally mounted on panoramas and sold as "131 maratea". Very little berlinas were sold in 1983-1984 with this grille, and were light or dark grey colour (metallic).

In late 1981 the 131 SuperBrava Mk2 was introduced. This is what they call a Mk3 in europe/england. This model was sold in Australia in 1981 and 1982, but there were a batch of cars that came late in 1982 that recieved some mechanical changes (different threads on the M/cyl and brake lines for example) Square headlights and the "mk3" type tail lights. This has the gear shift as per 131 sport. Plastic wrap around bumper covers and plastic lower door trims. 4 door sedan only

Excellent Steve, thanks for that. So that makes mine a 131 SuperBrava Mk2.5  Grin

In 1983 Fiat released the 131 SuperBrava Mk3. It carried over the mechanical changes of the last Mk2 S/Brava and had a few more besides. This model had 14" wheels and used larger brake 257mm discs and calipers from the ritmo/strada range, larger diameter brake booster. This model had the same rear tail lights, but fiat reintroduced the twin round grille with the current corporate logo of the 5 sloping lines... personally I think this is the nicest grille of all...very few were sold (less than 100 across the country) and they are probably the most sought after Australian 131 model. 4 door sedan only

SteveC

I know a bloke in Hobart that has a Mk3, unfortunately he doesn't realise what he's got and he's running it into the ground. If I had somewhere to store it I'd make him an offer he couldn't refuse!
