well I think they were made from 1973 and they were a 1759cc stroked to 1972cc and lots of other mods and 135bhp so would have been fairly quick

They read a quite potent beasty.  i only  heard off this tuning co doing the 500, no 131 and quoting from this site
A brief foray was made into the world of larger Fiats with the 132. Giannini stroked the 1756cc engine out to 1972cc, raised the compression and fitted twin carbs, in which form it produced around 135bhp. Alloy wheels were fitted and the front bumper modified, but otherwise the styling was left unchanged.

The 132 Giannini looks a lot better than this later offering from them........more like 'Gia-no-no'  :o

With this kind of styling on recent cars the result is unpredictable.

The more they look like , the more lookalike they will be after restyling .

Remember Peugeot 406 coupe (or was it 604?) done by Pininfarina  .. this was a car one could only love. Pininfarina studio modified the line of the car while this work of Gianini is ( tome less than satisfactory.

Sorry but it looks like a combination of Ford Fiesta , Golf II /III and poor Seat styling. From the looks of it I would assume this is a kit you could buy from a Tuning magazine.

No offense to anyone intended !

Miro

I strongly prefer the kind of tuning you can see below....

Giannini did in 1972 the Giannini 132 2000 based on the 132 1800. I have a list with details and options in the big book about Giannini.
A little about the engine, indeed 1936 cm3, compression 9,5:1, 115 DIN horsepower at 7000revs, topspeed 180. They did a lot more interesting things on Fiats. As far as I can see since 1979 they ALSO personalised cars, including 131s( based on all models) and also the 132 all versions. What it meant as the book tells:
Emblems Giannini in the heart of the wheels
Leather steering wheel withGiannini heart for claxon
Right side mirror
2 big Giannini emblems, 2 Giannini signs for the windows(?)
1 big Giannini shield
3 small Giannini shields
Options: Radio, Alloy wheels, fog lights.
Stunning isn't it ;), so I can change a car quite easily when I buy emblems in Padova ;D
So, indeed there is a big difference between the "original"Giannini 132 2000 and the later personalised cars!
