my 131 engine

working on my 131 sport today i noticed lancia cast into the exhaust mainfold also lancia is on the cam boxes is mine a lancia engine? how do i find out? where is the engine number? it has delorto twin 40 carbs, anyone help.

Most probably is a Lancia engine, someone could have fitted Lancia cam covers, but it is unlikely that anyone would have fitted a Lancia manifold. Fiat twin cams have plain cam covers. The engine type number is cast into the block near the engine mounts. Can't remember which side though

The cam covers are plain its the cam box or housing that has lancia on it

well when buying project Y the previous owner said the engine has had work done but i took that with a pinch of salt & still havent ran it as yet, it has a late 131 head but says lancia on 1 of the cam boxes & manifold only so fingers crossed she a good un!
