It is with a huge sigh of relief that I can now see my Abarth sitting in my home garage everytime I go out to the fridge for beer......or milk! Grin Grin It was safely delivered back from Mark's at IRS at about 11.30 today and after a very quick wash I put her away for a dry day when I can drive and clean her properly.

So, Abarth is MoT'd and taxed, but Insurance needs renewing before the trip to Germany - I just have to find the renewal letter now....... Wink

BTW - My orange 131 S was loaded onto the empty trailer for the return trip to Mark's. Here's hoping I see it back here again before it has totally disolved in his yard Undecided

Simon

Having read about your 'Timewarp' R Reg 131S, it would be great to see it back out on the road.

You're right Jas, Mark is notoriously slow - but he owed me a big favour and has this time pulled a rabbit out of the hat and turned my car around quickly Cool

It will be very good to have the 131S back on the road Rob. I've been very concious that it's been sat idle for years now and really needs to see the light of day again before it goes totally stale and needs huge expenditure.  Smiley At the moment there a few fairly minor issues to attend to - binding brakes, loud tappets, small bit of floor repair (which will probably end up being a large bit of floor repair Roll Eyes!), etc., which are all quite easy to fix and my Abarth will soon need a pretty major resto, so putting the S back on the road makes even more sense.

Cars as old as mine are best kept on the road. Keeping them locked away might keep the miles low, but things perish and bind so its best to keep things free wheeling and to replace a few consumables.

Simon & Others  Grin

You have done very well to preserve and in some cases restore the cars thus far.

A friend of my Dad's had an S Reg 131s that had serious Rust Issues at 3 Years Old. Some of the members cars here are approaching 40 Grin Cheesy

You're right Rob. My Abarth will be 36 in July with my Special being the same age a month later. Undecided

Pics of the Special loaded and ready to go to Mark and of my Abarth sat waiting to go between the welcoming open doors of where she belongs! Cheesy Grin Wink
