Got to try harder than that Dave  Wink His is a series 2 1300 and the car pictured is a series 1 - and not that you can tell, it's a 1600  Grin

Yes I was going to say the same thing.  Smiley

Is this the car you spoke about at 3MA Simon? Looks very fresh from the photos - I'd say it could be "Heini" standard!  Wink

I'm well chuffed this weekend. Grin Grin Not only have I got my orange S back on the road after about 8 years but I have, as Rob has correctly deduced, 'acquired' another S to go with  Grin Grin

A one owner, 46k miles car, never welded and never used in the rain - totally cherished by it's original buyer - and I am now lucky enough to own it Grin One of the last series one cars being registered in April 1978.

Don't ask me how I've now managed to amass a collection of 4 series 1 131s - it's just something that's happened - and I'm not complaining Grin Cheesy Grin Cool

Nice example. I just need to find a series 2 Supermirafiori in the same condition.

Not used since 2004, in fact the last tax disc expired in 2003, but it's been kept dry and out of harm's way - although it needs a full recommission before it can be MoT'd.

Good news though is that Mark, at IRS in Basildon, has already got the car to run as sweetly as the orange S - and he's only had the car a few hours  Cool but I shall have new belts fitted all the same. Grin

Yes Kev, this is the car that I was offered at Brooklands. Wink Goes to show that you never know when someone will offer you a 131! Shocked Grin I know it's not a twin cam, but I really don't care. I have a very soft spot for these series 1 cars - in case you hadn't noticed. Wink Cheesy

Simon

A fantastic looking S1, in on balance my favoutite colour for a 131S  Smiley Smiley. Being the last of the line (s1) with a few more standard fit comfort options, this is a superb find  Cool Cool.

I assume you have got the builders in to construct that triple garage  Smiley Cheesy Wink

I am also a great fan of S1 look, and IMHO this is the best looking of all 131's.

Thanks for all of your kind comments guys. Grin

I'm not sure that even the yellow car will up to the "Heini Standard" but it should make a very good car nonetheless. Cool

Rob, I have already spoken to the builder regarding a new garage - but to start with it will be more of a temporary structure to protect a car from the elements rather than brick built. It'll keep the costs down initially too. (I already have a double length garage which houses the orange S and Abarth, so I just need as home for the 'new' yellow car  Grin)

Heini - I thought having 131s in general was a 'disease' but I seem to have developed a rare strain known as 'Series-one-itis'!  Shocked Grin
