Just out of interest, why do you want the fan to come on at a lower temperature? The book says the fan should come on between 90 & 94deg/C. The thermostat should start opening between 83 & 87deg/C and be fully open by 95deg/C. If you bring the fan on earlier, the engine's just getting up to operating temperature and then the fan's trying to cool it down.

This is why you need to get a thermostat that opens earlier. for example the one from some Fiat Ducato 2,5D and then fit it inside head as it is only an insert

Are you sure it's not the thermostat not opening too late? If the water thermostat opens late, you only get hot water in the radiator when it's too hot and the fan will only come on when the radiator has hot water flowing through it.  Connect the fan wires together so it's on all the time and if the engine still rans a bit hot then you should change the water thermostat.
