3MA Ferry Prices Turin 2009

Did a check on ferry prices from Eire/UK and Eire/France.
Rosslare/Fishgaurd car and 2 adults 250euro round trip.
Cork/Roscoff car and 2 adults 714euro round trip.
If you travel via Uk,one has higher fuel prices and you have to change your money to sterling+bank charges.
So which is the best option?

Don't forget when you enter the UK you must exit too.
The channel tunnel has some great pricing if booked well in advance.

So, to compare costs you must compare the long and relaxing Irish to France crossing, with two crossings via the UK plus UK fuel, plus running the gaultlet
of about 6 billion speed cameras en-route to your channel crossing point.

Converting currency is not a problem as a regular bank card seems to work in the UK these days. Make sure your bank card has the Maestro logo on it.
Maestro supported cards work in France and in Italy too, as I use my regular Ulster bank card to buy my roast chickens, water, and drink, at the local supermarket in Rome.

PS Cigarettes are 3.70 euro for 20 in Italy at the moment,
so if you are a smoker you could buy the years supply in Italy,
thus fully paying for your trip to Turin !

Yeah the channel tunnel is very reasonable now and sure a tank and a half should get you accross the UK but if you have cirrus which most bank cards have now there are no charges in using proper bank machines, but using the channel tunnel saves you having to go anyway near paris as this can be a night mare at times. As far as I remember these ferries from Cork and Rosslare as very long sailings could be quicker to go through Uk
