This is simply too close to me  Shocked Shocked (about 60 miles)

OMG! What's a guy to do? Huh Can I have too many series 1? Undecided

Erm... I think not! Grin Cool All my 131s are series 1 cars - perhaps I can sell this one to the wife in as much as I 'only' have Specials (even the Abarth is a Special of sorts Wink) and a 'Basic' would 'complete' my collection  Grin Grin Grin Grin

If it as good as it looks and is as described then it seems like a good car for the money.

This is the car recently sold in Bristol and it's disappointing that it's for sale again so soon at nearly 250% of the purchase price  Shocked  I thought the new owners bought it because they loved Fiats and not for a quick profit  Undecided

If that's the case then yes Theo, it's disappointing. Undecided The seller does appear to be a Fiat enthusiast as there are other Fiats in the pics of the 131. Perhaps the seller's circumstances have changed and he/she can no longer afford to own so many cars.  Huh

Looks like the thread has been deleted this morning, so the seller has either sold the car or changed his mind. Huh

It's interesting how people value 131s. To some people ?1850 for a clean looking series 1 is too dear and yet others will spend 6000 euro on a LHD series 3 Super or ?10000 plus on a sport.

Personally I think (assuming it is as described) ?1850 was a reasonable price for this one.

As for making a profit, good luck to people. Many times people have said on this forum that it is good that 131s are becoming more sought after and prices have risen. If prices continue to rise people will make a profit when they sell.

 Hi everyone.

So first of all just to put few things right.

I`m not sure how Theo came to the 250% price increase,  if he could explain it to me that would be great. I don`t mind  if you break it down to numbers, 100% increase would basically represent doubling the purchase price, without adding any costs, i.e recovery, mot, tax, insurance and lots of parts and our time.
Another small thing I would like to add as we are talking percentages, we actually paid 60% more for the car than Theo offered to the old boy.

Making quick assumptions is not good, I`m used to people doing this . We`ve got our reasons why we have to sell the car!

And yes we are Fiat enthusiasts, so I`m sure we`ll see you at some of the shows.

Hello Ladislav and welcome to the forum.

My post might have been misleading regarding the price increase but I was trying to make a point. I've  corrected my original post. But also your '60% more' percentage is misleading as you only paid about 10% more than what you were told by the previous owner I'd offered  Wink Plus my offer was a range dependent on what I thought, without seeing it,  would cost to get the car through an MOT. So actually you paid 20% less than the offer I made on the car if it had a current MOT. But let's not get into a discussion on percentages  Wink Grin  When I saw the car for sale so soon after you bought, it seemed to me that it was simply bought for a quick profit; which of course it's something you are perfectly entitled to do but it's not the impression you gave me when we met. I apologise if I've offended you in any way.
