Lowering a standard car

Looking for some guidance here if possible.

I have a standard, Series 3 131 Supermirafiori. As standard the stance on the car is raised at the back as you all doubt know, and I'm looking to lower it. Nothing radical, am thinking maybe an inch at the front, and 2 - 2.5 at the rear (I need to measure etc. to be sure what would suit).

What is required to do so? My thinking was a set of slightly lower, uprated springs, but I was told to do this I would also need to shorten the panhard rod? Anybody already done this? Anything else I need to take into consideration?

I put Mirafiorisport springs on mine which I believe are slightly lower and firmer I believe. Didn't do anything with the panhard rod and didn't have any problems. I guess it will affect its angle a bit.

Rear springs on your S3 Che seem incorrect. I remember the owners lad telling me that his late father had them changed in Italy as one broke. It sits far to high. Wonder if they are estate springs.

I think Finnie131 has modded an original panhard arm recently to deal with lowering. I would go 25 or 30 max although I have bought some 2 inch lowered and 10% stiffer. Not fitted yet and not sure if I will for road use.

Interesting, thank you. Sounds like I need to check the springs against a standard set and we'll see how they compare.
