Title: Expert Restoration Services Post by: Thotos on July 20, 2009, 12:10:33 PM As well as being able to provide most panels for 131s, Yagmur (http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=45) also has a full bodyshop and restoration facilities in Turkey. So drive to Turkey, have a holiday and drive back in a fully restored 131! :D Here's some photos of Yagmur's (http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=45) bodyshop:

I only ever had 1 Ford, back in '91....and it was a Side-on pesky Escky! I bought it for ?600 with 26,000 miles on the clock and 2 previous owners 1976 4dr 1600 Sport (yes they did them) 1680cc 4spd Corsair 2000GT Bullet box Janspeed manifold & exhaust 5 bar rear link RS2000 brakes + master cylinder RS2000 rear axle It was plenty quick in a straight line.....but way too sidey in the bends ;D. Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: sid131 on July 20, 2009, 08:19:35 PM what you have to remember is that those panels are not replacement panels they are hand made! Yagmur has kept me updated with the progress on his cars & the workmanship is outstanding, i should have took my 131 over there when he offered last year!!!
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: Thotos on July 21, 2009, 01:05:00 PM what you have to remember is that those panels are not replacement panels they are hand made! Yes, that's right; the panels are made one by one and completely by hand. As Yagmur said, "These cars are very old and full of rust everywhere so we have to change every steel panel. At the end we have new cars with new steel. No rust under the paint." There are 24 cars being restored at the moment for which they make every chassis part, floor pans, boot floor, inner wings etc by hand. In fact any and every panel not available is made by hand to a very high standard. There are also some 131s at the depot waiting for their restoration to start and Yagmur has promised to keep us all updated with full photographic records once the 131 restorations start. "We are sure that we will make a 2010 model 131 with every body panel part brand new." So we all wait to see this brand new 131! Here's some more photos: (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshop6.jpg) (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshop7.jpg) (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshop8.jpg) (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshop9.jpg) (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshopa.jpg) (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshopb.jpg) (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshopc.jpg) (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshopd.jpg) And here's the man himself, Yagmur ;) :D (http://www.131mirafiori.com/images/Yagmur/bodyshope.jpg) Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: eugene on July 21, 2009, 09:35:09 PM Looking at all this beautiful workmanship, could a future 3ma take place in Turkey ::) ::) ::) ::).Eugene

An Abarth body kit was also bought from Walezy (http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=246.0) and the 131 will be fully restored in Yagmur's bodyshop (http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=2473.0) and turned into an Abarth replica. Hopefully we'll get full pictorial updates as the job progresses.

If they are from a series 2 Argenta I want to buy them ;D Could also be from a Regata I'm not quite sure.
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: Thotos on July 28, 2009, 10:30:28 AM I would have said Fiat Croma as my Croma had the same wheel trims.

There is a point when it is a different car not a restored original.
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: theredx19 on August 13, 2009, 10:29:40 PM Good work Yagmur it is some extensive work you are doing there but if you want the rust gone this is what has to happen as this covering up of RUST is the worse sin to a car that anyone can do...
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: mirafioriman on August 13, 2009, 10:51:05 PM Or you could buy a brand new car.
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: sid131 on August 14, 2009, 08:16:54 AM Where can you buy a brand new escort?
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: mirafioriman on August 14, 2009, 09:58:07 AM From Yagmur it would appear.
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: theredx19 on August 14, 2009, 02:18:54 PM You can purchase a fully and professionaly restored Escort from Yagmur and not a "pretty car" that will break out in spots like a teenager before a disco.
Title: Re: Restoration Service Post by: sam22 on August 14, 2009, 02:32:49 PM wow that is some workmanship by yagmur and his team, with yagmur at least you know what you are getting, as good and better than a new car,
Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: Thotos on December 15, 2010, 04:55:02 PM Almost nothing is beyond restoring when new panels can be manufactured to very high standards.

So now body restorations can be handled in-house completely from stripping, blasting, preparing, repairing and spraying. I just need to find a good (and cheap!) way of shipping my Trevi to Turkey... ;D

Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: 106usj on December 15, 2010, 10:45:44 PM Great stuff and keeping the old MK1 & MK2 Escorts alive.
Cant wait to see the 131 once she goes in for the Abarth package !! Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: 131racing on December 16, 2010, 02:56:16 PM hello guys in malta we have alot fords escort mk1 but a bit of mk2 they are still alive.and 131 is being rare
Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: 106usj on December 19, 2010, 11:04:57 PM This is the problem the 131 is getting very rare indeed.
The Mk 1 & 2 Escort have an abundance of aftermarket parts panels etc available we dont !! Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: curt on December 20, 2010, 07:59:44 PM Hey Theo - why dont you drive your trevi to turkey and have a long holiday - you will drive back in a brand new car ;D
Or drive there -have a holiday - fly back wait a year and drive back in a new car !! Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: alan.acs on December 30, 2010, 05:26:01 PM Fantastic work man ship but why did yagmur go to all that trouble when you can buy the panels new.
Yagmur should have sent the escorts over here we have a table jig which enables the removal and refitment of any or all of the panels and they will be perfectly aligned.we use this mostly to produce show/concurs and grp 4 shells. Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: djape1977 on December 30, 2010, 10:37:33 PM you don't get it? labor is cheaper than parts in turkey
Title: Re: Expert Restoration Services Post by: Thotos on April 26, 2011, 10:34:37 AM Some nice rally cars have turned up in Yagmur's workshops. I know I'm somewhat biased but I think the 131 looks so much better (and meaner!) than the Escort.
