So another 131 sport appears. Its amazing how many keep cropping up. Looks a doable project although it does need a lot of work. Seats and stuff missing does not help either! Will be interesting to see what it makes.

She isnt that bad so should make between ?1k to ?1.5k, whoever buys it will be paying Yagmur a visit lol.

I think the car is rusted completely when you start to have a closer look. I had a parts car way back in 1990. It looked better as this example and the empty shell broke in 2 parts while bringing to the holy Fiat sky!
I like the text "good interior"but seats and panels missing.

It's a very brave person who take's this restoration on. The A-pillars have rusted right through :o

Looks like there's lots of the external black plastic trim missing too, which is extremely difficult to find.

Good luck to whoever buys this one.

Currently ?670 with more than 6 days to go. Does not look like its condition or missing pieces is putting people off!

well if the 131 sport is making over 10k euro in europe buy this rare right hand drive genuine sport & by god you would have some car if 10k was spent on restoring it, check out that 2 door in finland elsewhere on the forum & see what can be done with a rotten car.

I would echo Simon's comments on this car. A full Sport interior will not be easy or cheap to source and even more difficult and possibly expensive to get will be all the missing exterior trim. This could turn out to be a very expensive headache of a project.

Its OK saying that sports in Europe are fetching 10,000 Euro, but these cars are usually not rotten ones which have been restored. Its very hard to restore a car to true factory standard. Also a thing to bear in mind is that prices can go down as well as up. Remember how in the 1980s and early 1990s cars like the E Type Jag were making ?30,000+? Then the prices crashed and have never rose again to these levels!

David if that car was in the right hands it would be better than it left the factory, my car will be better that when it left Fiat, but i have many years experience with this type of work so i am lucky but it can be done, there is a small family bodyshop not too far from me & you should have seen the corolla AE86 that was left there last year my god!! that 131 is new compared & its out now better than new, so in the right hands it would be a great 131 sport once again.

That will give some body an awfull headache, I would hate to be the one to take that on. People must really be desperate to have a 131 sport  ??? ???

It would appear that they are. On another website they refer to it as 'scene tax' (something the 4 door version does not appear to have at present!)

Dave it is a shame like look at the silver t/c you have for sale, why isnt that snapped up or is the appeal just for the 2 door sport to put the kit on it? i will be keeping mine standard & would also like a 4 door but have no where to store it.
i had several supermirafioris in the past, i will get some pics scanned & posted for you.

The world is crazy, you will see that they pay almost more for an incomplete wreck as for a whole saveable car.

Was the last photo after you had it painted or before it became multi-coloured? Nice to see pics of another super. Interesting colour, I don't remember seeing one that colour running around here and its not a colour I have ever owned. Yet!

Nice profit made there. I know what you mean about the change in the seats. I luckily have two sets of the full velour seats in beige, but most of the cars which turn up now are later models with the vinyl on the sides.....

Not really had to buy all the panels & paint & pay the sprayer also there is rga design front spoiler & on the rear which cant be seen in the photo is the sought after small boot spoiler not the hormann the genuine fiat?? cant remember but was smaller than Kevins just sat on top of the boot was very sexy, also some ice aka sharp apss stereo & speakers so made emmerdale farm (nowt) really. bought the suzuki gs850 after her.

I know this car very well. It was stored and had work done on her at Sev Motors in Derby- my uncles garage.

The interior was fully retrimmed and looked superb. This car was complete and running. The nearside outer skin sill was the only thing off when it left Sev motors around year 2001/2002 due to closure of the buisness.

Not to put any one off or cause any aggro but, as far as i know the owner Jim had given the car to a car restorer, no work had commenced for years so he had tried to get the car back. For some reason he could not get the vehicle back. I last heard solictors were going to be involved.

I have since contacted Jim immediately to query this sale.

Well spotted! We will have to keep our ears to the ground to see what happens..... Interesting that the seller had the V5 in their name though.

Yes although speaking in a more general sense I'm not sure that that proves anything especially if the buyer does not know the seller and the deal is completed at an address other than that shown on the documents - Might be a good idea to ask for independant identification from the seller when buying secondhand.

I spoke to my mate who was gutted to hear of his pride and joy being on ebay.

I e-mailed the seller and had no reply, the next morning it was off ebay. May be the seller has read my post on the forum or has been notified by someone or may even have sold it.

My mate told me that he'd had a letter from DVLA about someone trying to apply for a log book and that he had then got in touch with solictors who weren't interested. He even tried the Police. I'm not sure what he said to DVLA, but by the sounds of it, had lost interest.

Jim said that the garage owner he had left the car with had passed away. He was not notified and when he queried his cars progress, was told that the car had been moved on somewhere and his son did not know where it was.

I remember asking about his car about 11 months ago and he told me that he'd rather me take on the resto project as soon as he finds it. Someone had already stole the webber 45's and it seems like the interiors gone. He told me to come and collect the spares he had in his cellar. I went round to his place and picked up adjustable Spax rear shocks, an axle, gearbox, twin carb manifold, all the missing trim from the advertised car except the seats and lots more. He said as soon as i know the where abouts of my car, it's yours. He even has the missing 15" alloy wheel at home now.

Jim has said that if the car is going to a good home and will be restored,  he is happy! If someone on this forum has bought it and requires any info on history etc, i can give you the previous owners number. I can remember the engine being rebuilt by a fiat specialist in Derby and a stage 2 head bought from Autosprint of birmingham. It has lowererd springs on it that were made to his taste, i think 3" lowererd all round. Lots of new panels during the mid 90's that have only deteriorated by leaving the car outside uncovered.

I drove this car for a quick blast around 1998 and it was quick, very noisy and didn't want to stop revving!

Hi Lee

You might have missed the other posting about "how great this site is" and the subsequent postings about how everyone is generally friendly and helpful.

http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=1510.0

Whilst I appreciate that it must be frustrating to potentially miss out on a desired purchase on Ebay how "friendly" are your comments to Bobby above..?

Having met Bobby and corresponded with him over the years I'd be happy to bet that he is only trying to be helpful to fellow forum members - including yourself.? ;)

Best of luck on getting the keys..and the car! ;)

I emailed the seller, 12 hours later it was off ebay. I have had no contact. I only saw the advert on friday.

My mate has no internet and is not computer friendly, that's why i posted the info on this site and told him. I have known this car since i was 17 and have seen thousands being spent on it. To see this car end up the way it has from Jim is very dissapointing. I do not have the keys, not sure if Jim has. Like i said in my previous thread, good luck to you if you get the car.

Apologies F1lmm, i did receive an e-mail from Lee who is selling the car. I kept checking the wrong e-mail add i have.

I rang him today and had a chat. He seems like a very genuine chap and explained how he obtained the car and saved it from the bone yard. It seems that the story of this car with Jim is very very long winded and other owners/garage owners seem to have had somesort of ownership. I have passed on Lee's number to jim for him to query any issues.

It's quite hard to get hold of him so i told Lee if you have no contact then in my opinion go ahead with the sale. He does have the logbook in his name so i would of thought legally it's his.

I didn't mean to cause you the stress it seems you've had but, because what Jim had told me about the car in the past 12 months and not being able to trace it's whereabouts, any passionate 131 owner would have a concern.

Regards
Bob

Many thanks for your openess Martin.

My Father has had 2 strokes and I have experienced first hand how difficult and long the recovery is....if at all.

I think that the only way to resolve differences without descending into chaos is to use PM for any disagreements, we all have access to each others emails so wouldn't this be the best way to convey our differences of opinion?

Just a thought  ;)
