Details are now available on the annual Classic car Fiat weekend.

Dates: Friday 23rd Sept finishing on Sunday 25th Sept 2011.

Hotel: Connemara Coast Hotel 4 Star

Contact: 091 592108 - Mary Lydon & mention the classic Fiat weekend.

http://connemaracoast.ie/

The location is the same as last year mainly because most people commented on how well the hotel looked after us plus the facilities (bar, restaurant, spa, pool, reserved parking, Galway Bay views, etc)  were great value. The very same deal is available as last time so no inflation. This means ?69 per person sharing per night and includes dinner bed & breakfast. The first four singles to book will not be charged a supplement ? After the first 4, the rate is ?89 per night so it?s better value to bring company of either gender...or book early.  Wink

The Saturday drive will be in the opposite direction to 2010 and will take us into North Clare and down the west coast. As a destination I?m going to suggest the recently restored walled gardens at the historic Vandeleur Estate in Kilrush.

http://www.gardenlovers.ie/vandeleur_walled_garden.garden.6629.html

The site offers tea rooms, views of the Shannon estuary, the gardens themselves, forest walks and should appeal to most people. It is about 1hr 45 mins drive from Galway. However the drive itself is along the often spectacular Clare coastline taking in the Burren, Black head, The cliffs of Moher, Lahinch and more. And what do we have classic Fiats for if not to drive them?!

Kevin, I was glad to see your choice of location this year as it proved to be brilliant from every aspect last year, providing a great base for a very enjoyable weekend.
I also must compliment you on your reconnaissance of yet another driving route this year. I.m sure it will provide nice driving and beautiful scenery, as usual. All we need now is the weather.
Hotel booked and looking forward to another great weekend and renewing old acquaintances as well as making new ones. See you all there!!!!!!! Roll on september.

Good numbers for this stage and I hope there will be more closer to the time.

Itinerary is now worked out for the Saturday run and will be distributed on the day. It'll be a bit of a long drive so we wont be leaving too late.  Smiley

Just need to organise some fine weather now... Wink
