Quick update before we leave for Eastbourne and Andy and Nita's.

Andy and Nita got as far as Oxford before they suffered an electrical (Andy thinks) failure and the car stopped. Cry They spent the next hour and a half waiting for the recovery truck only to be taken back to their yard, where some half wit told Andy, who is a mechanic for his day job by the way, that the dizzy had moved! Roll Eyes Despite there not being a spark when the car was hot. (Andy thinks it's the coil breaking down - but unfortunately today forget to put a spare one in the boot).

Anyway, eventually the recovery co up lifted the car but only took them as far as Dorking, where they had to wait for another recovery company to take them the rest of the way. Angry Anyway, these 'new' half wits came with a truck that wasn't able to up lift Andy's low fronted car (as the car has a front spoiler like the Abarth) so they had to get another truck!!! More delay.

Anyway, they should now be on the final leg home and should be home soon - more than 6 and a half hours after the initial breakdown! Roll Eyes I think Andy will pack a spare coil next time. Cool

I hope you had a good day the pair of you.

Neet said it was the coil on Andy's car and he has now changed it..... all ok now  Wink

I think I can honestly say this year has sucked with regard to my attempts to get to an Auto Italia event.
This time it wasn't the car that played up it was the crapiest road in the UK.... the M25!

After crawling along at the M26 jcn onto and past Clacket Lane we had a fairly free run to jcn 13 and then stop started to 14 & I'd finally had enough when we slowly reached 15 so I turned around and headed for home.

On the way back I called up my mate Mark and called in to see his latest purchase and look at what he was working on in the shop...
