The photo below was sent in by forum member Yagmur. The 131 is from Cyprus and the owner claims is an original Abarth. Without meaning to offend anyone, I am convinced this is not original; in fact I don't think it's even close as a copy! What do other members think?

I'd have said it was a modified series 2 Theo - possibly a Racing or Sport - check out the internal door trim. A pick under the bonnet would help.

There are several 'give aways' - not least the position of the roof aerial. Wink Body kit doesn't look that close to original either, (front panel and 'chin' spoiler are wrong) and the wheels are a little too bling Cool No hole in the bonnet air scoop either Huh Wing indicators in the wrong place, vents in the front panel the wrong size, etc., etc.,

Ask the owner for the chassis number if you really want to confirm it Wink

No rear headrests or Abarth badge on the c pillar? The blistered arches look a tad too small compared with the Stradale versions..?

Having said all of that it is lovely looking car and I would love to own it - A real credit to it's creator.  Cheesy

Is it me or does it appear that there are more replicas than Sports around these days..? Huh

Hey guys ,

Please do not even refer to it as a  "Fiat 131 Abarth Rally Stradale replica".   Angry

All it is , is a "visually" ill-tuned 131 2 dr.  Cry

This is what local rednecks do in a village garage!

Please do not call it a replica of anything, the guy just has little imagination, poor taste and no information !

It is a total disaster! Such pictures should actually be banned or censored like this !

Well,

Just saw a very nice 123 stradale (original) for 35 K euro.

The total I have spent on building my replica probably passed this number over the last 4 years ...

Initially I started laughing  Grin and than suddenly crying ... Cry I wish I had all the money up front ...)

Now, I have great car, but still a replica ...

Miro

My censored picture woud have to be taken under the hood and from the bottom of the car ... Grin
