Well, it's all over for another year but of course we do have the Mullingar based event to look forward to in 8 months time. Plus a Co Tip run sometime in Oct.

GKMR10 was blessed with another totally dry weekend to follow on from GKMR09 and to compensate for the total washout that was GKMR08. 2010 was the best supported event to date with 20 different classic Fiats attending.

The Friday began with 15 cars already in the car park by the time I arrived ...and with a convoy of 127s joined us on Sat morning. More than one person commented good humouredly, that it was a relief not to see the event swamped by 131s!  Wink In fact, the variety of cars that attended was one of the most appeaing aspects so much so that for our group photo (last one on this posting), we tried to organise the cars in some sort of order while we kept queuing public cars waiting patiently until all the cars were parked.

The Saturday run was a bit hit & miss... mostly because of my route notes from 2.5 years ago were not the best and the poor old memory had faded with the passage of time. Nevertheless we achieved most of the planned trip highlights while keeping everyone together and experiencing no mechanical issues.

The hotel looked after us superbly, one of the most notable characteristics was the attitude of the staff - Nothing was too much trouble and they delivered on everything that they promised.

Discussions on Sat night turned to where to go for next September and there seemed to be a lot of support for picking the same venue with a run into North Clare for the Saturday. Anyway plenty of time to plan that next year...as well as for someone else to step in and organise things for 2011, should they wish - If anyone wants an incentive, you should have seen the room upgrade that I got as organiser!  Wink

Anyway, here are some pictures and thanks to everyone who supported the event and helped to maintain the Irish classic Fiat scene momentum.  Smiley The event in May should build on this and maybe we will eventually achieve a full calendar of Irish events like what Fiat clubs in other countries manage.

I'll get around to doing a better photo compilation soon.

One of my favourite cars at the event...

Another one for 132 fans...

One thing that is quite obvious from the pictures is that IMO the S3 132 was a much better looking car then the Argenta that replaced it. Argenta is still a great car and I'd be more then happy with either.

I noticed there were 2 yellow S2 Mirafiori's. I assume the Estate is a CL? and the other one?. Mirafioris S1 and S2 always looked great in this colour.

The GKMR10 was a great event. Thank you for organising it Kevin. It was great to see so many different types of Fiats in one place and to chat with most of their owners and keepers.

Here is the link to the Mullingar event next year lads. It's on the 27-28th May 2011. ALL are welcome. Thank you:
