Title: Help Required - Bravo 6 speed gearbox
Post by: chris131 on October 20, 2016, 09:43:13 AM
Hi Guys - Sorry I know this isn't 131 related, but thought someone might be able to help.

I have a 2008 fiat bravo sport 150bhp 1.9 turbo diesel with 6 speed gearbox. About 3 weeks ago something broke in the gearbox, and I have tried alot of scrap yards in Ireland and cant seem to find one.

Would any of you guys know anywhere in the UK that might have a second hand or reconditioned gearbox for my car?

Or does anyone know if its the same as anything else? I know the engine are shared amongst the fiat, vauxhall and possibly alfa romeo range - but I've been told that the gearboxes are all different?? Surely fiat couldn't have made a 6 speed gearbox that will only suit a fiat bravo??

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Chris

Hi Chris, I've changed a few on the Vauxhalls with the JTD engine but I'm not sure if it's the same box as the Fiat. I would of thought the the Croma uses the same box with that engine. You need to get the numbers of the box. Diff bearings normally go on these and the use of 6th gear acceleration at low speed. Vauxhall gearbox is an MT32

If the casing is fine then all the parts are available on eBay if it's the same as Vauxhall.
