Title: Lights stay on! Post by: parrish on March 08, 2016, 10:02:08 PM 1977 131 1600.
Been out tonight, initially all ok, lights on and dip and main beam working fine. After a long run on main beam, lights would not dip. After returning home found out that I can't even switch them off, three way switch has no effect, have had to disconnect the battery. I'm suspecting a relay stuck! Burnt out! Any ideas? Help! The relay is clearly marked on the fusebox cover so check that first. I think the high beam and horn relays are the same so you could use the horn relay in place of the lights relay to test.

Identified the relevant relay with a bit of switching on off and feeling each one. Changed it and all back to normal. Opened the old relay and the contacts were like a set of very old points with one contact about gone! Steve |
