Day 3 of 3MA09 (Saturday) began as an overcast day and plans to visit a car musuem called The Evolution of the Automobile.

There was a strong Italian & American flavour to the exhibits although my favourite era of the 60s/70s was not represented. The emphasis was more on vintage, sports and eccentrics.

An additional S1 131S turned up having come from Montpelier in France to be part of 3MA. This took the running tally to 15 131s so far.

Also in attendance was a ratty but highly tuned Fiat 124 Special fitted with a Fiat 132 1800 engine tuned to 155bhp. The driver wearing a John Wayne stetson took great fun in lane dodging between the 131s as they drove along the wide Torineese boulevards. Cheesy

After the museum we had a change of plan for lunch and instead of a drive "around the corner" we set off across town with at least a dozen 131s sometimes taking up all 3 lanes (and with the 124 still buzzing around shepherding any cars at the back). I'd say it was some sight from the roadside but unfortunately I only have in car shots.

Lunch was at a fairly non descript Pizzeria which upon entry revealed that it was popular with Italians and had a large eating area out the back. It was here that we discovered that an Italian lunch at the weekend can take 3 hours and some valuable driving time was lost. However some fantastic pizzas and beer were put to good use.

In addition the silver car lost some water from a radiator leak so some cars decided to call it a day and head home with plans to meet again on Sunday.

After lunch 7 cars continued with the programme to climb the local hills around Turin to visit a Basilica and admire the city and faraway Alpine views.

We had our first sprinkling of rain drops here and then left for our hotel and plans for more beer/pizza/pasta at Il Pirata.
