I know that this is slightly off our favourite subject but I had a once in a lifetime treat last night.
I got a last minute ticket to the official opening game of the new Thomond Park for the show piece match of Munster (club side) against the All Blacks - The no 1 world ranked international rugby union team.
It was 30 years since we upset the form books and beat them 12-0 and the stage was set for a repeat shock victory until a late AB try saved the day for them and we lost 16-18.
Why am I telling you this..? Well the AB Haka is world famous and preludes every match that they play. It is an intimidating war dance designed to unnerve the opposing team. Many teams all over the world have considered suitable ripostes - In fact a programme on TV showed a variety of these - Most of which seemed inneffectual in the face of such aggression.
However Munster last night came up with a variation that had the hairs on the back of neck standing up and the crowd in raptures - The justification...? We have 4 Kiwis in our squad...!
(Kiwis = New Zealanders)?
